Playoff Positioning

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Does anyone know of a more reputable site than NBA.com? I keep refreshing the standings, but something is wrong. It says that Indiana is the #9 seed and lost 3 straight. Which as we all know is impossible since they are so legit and all:chuckle:

Fucking hell, you people don't want to see anyone in the first round, do you? :chuckle:

I'll take Boston :) I think the main point is that Miami and Indiana leave us with a choice of the best of 2 evils in the East. I don't want to see Miami because of the LeBron/Miami rubbish and I don't want to see Indiana because Indiana are Indiana and they've seemed to be our bogey team for some time now.

But Miami, Boston, Indiana and maybe even Charlotte are all tossing up between that 7th and 8th spot. If we somehow manage to land Boston, I'm sure we'll all be a very pleased collective.

MIlwaukee will be joining them soon

I have a proposal - Let's start from the second round, and after that we will play the first round... ;)

I definitely want Miami in the first round. Don't care how Wade is playing. They're not winning four games against us and we need some payback.

There are no shortcuts for winning a championship: just bring up any team that currently holds position 9 to 4 and the Cavs should beat them in 6 games max.

I could imagine you care about playoff positioning in the West but but in the East? Be more confident guys!

Look on the bright side if we play Miami. The media scrutiny would indeed be overbearing and taxing on our players no doubt, but when the Cavs win that series (and they will), they'll be a more tight knit group than ever going into the later rounds. I don't doubt it'd be a rough first round series, but our team would be stronger than ever coming out of it.

Psst, hey. The Cavaliers would be the No. 7 seed in the West right now.

That wasn't a critique of the Cavaliers. It was an example of how absurd the West has been.
Is putting "Psst" in a tweet a common occurrence? Is someone going to be like, "Oh, I wasn't paying attention, but now I am because that tweet said "PSST""

Also, Cavs would be 7th, only 4 games behind the #2 seed. They are also 8-4 versus the West playoff contenders when LeBron plays.

Since LeBron returned, Cleveland is 13-2 vs. the West and 12-5 vs. the East. That's a differential of roughly 16%. Makes me wonder if we'd be doing better in the West than the East.

That'd implode some talking heads' skulls.

The thing is the Cavs if they get hot down the stretch could easily finish as the West's 2 or 3 seed. Considering at one point we were 19-20 and pretty much all those West teams were off to hot starts I wouldn't complain at all. And the East is arguably much better. The bottom half of the East teams are all trending up. Teams like Boston and Indiana are playing great over the last few weeks. Also, there is a good chance that Milwaukee falls to the number 7 seed. At the current pace, they'll be caught by Miami, Indiana, AND Boston...That would be the best 2-7 for us as the Bucks are basically tanking since the MCW trade.

Pstt, hey Tom. Who has the best record in the NBA over the last 30+ games?

The Cavs in this fantasy scenario would be .5 games from the 5 seed, 2 games from the 4 and 2.5 games from the 3. It's just a conveniently timed comment.

Given how Cleveland has played over the last half of the season, it's pretty likely they will pass Dallas, LA and Portland to finish with a top 5 record.

So I'm not sure what the point of his tweet was. All the teams in the West had far more continuity early in the season. My guess is none of those teams want to play us in the playoffs.

Yeah the Cavs would be a 7 seed but no team in the West would want to play them.
