Playoff Watch 2015

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
All we need is either the A's to sweep the Mariners or vice-versa and for the Indians to sweep the Tigers ;)

Can't imagine a much bigger regular season series than this one.

Essentially 3 games out of the Wild Card and division, with the leader of WC2 and divisional foe on deck.

Season-defining moment. Take two out of three and they've got the momentum heading into a seven game stretch against Houston and Minnesota.

That'll pretty much do it. Maybe next year, right?

You do realize that by starting this thread, you've singlehandedly assured that the Indians won't get within 3 GB of either race the rest of the way...
Hate it when I'm right.

These blown games (last night, two versus Detroit) are killing me right now...

This thread can discuss the current AL Wild Card standings. The Indians win today was huge, as Seattle is losing big to Houston and Oakland is tied with Philly.

I'll try to update this, but current standings for the last wild card spot....

Kansas City: 84-70
Oakland: 84-70
----------------------------------------------------------
Seattle: 83-72 | 1.5GB | WCE: 7
Cleveland: 81-74 | 3.5GB | WCE: 5
NY Yankees: 80-75 | 4.5GB | WCE: 4

Remember, the Indians continue the game that got suspended in Kansas City due to rain, they will continue tomorrow leading 4-2 in the bottom of the 10th.

Plus, the series against KC could ultimately decide the season.

Should be a wild finish!

The KC series will help decide the season, but we need till need some help from Toronto and LA to take care of the Mariners. Would help if the Angels would sweep the Athletics too.

If they don't get a sweep the season is over.

It is crazy, but all the people who said the Tribe needed to sweep the Tigers back in May were right- had they done that, they would be 1/2 game out of the playoffs. Those people were prophetic. That series in May truely did doom the season.

Amazing to think about the fact they'd be tied for the wild card had they not blown those 3 latests saves again Detroit and Minnesota.

With that said, somehow, someway, they're fucking 3.5 back of Kansas City with the possibility of being down only 1.5 tomorrow with 2 games left in the series.

The weekend is also massive based on the idea the Mariners are playing the Angels. Need the Angels to roll so we can jump the Mariners. Need to take control this weekend, they can't rely on Texas and the White Sox to help out.

Eh, are those losses any bigger than the more recent ones against Detroit, the missed DP in Minnesota, or any other loss? The series in May didn't doom anything. If anything, this situation shows that every single game matters, whether it be in April, May, June, July, August, or September.

Um, no offense, but this makes no sense. How exactly was that Tigers series back in May more important than the Tigers series about a week and a half ago in which we got swept?
