Walters is hurt, unless I missed a comeback.

Intercostal strain or something to that effect.

OK, and again, what has Chris Gimenez done to warrant him playing over Walters?

I always check the stats: Gimenez is 6 for his last 45 (.133) with 0 XBH & 2 RBI.

Call me crazy, but I'd much rather have the HR threat in the lineup, especially considering our offense couldn't hit AA pitching at this point.

I'll even give you Ramirez, cause frankly it's surprised me he's stuck with him with his boy Aviles on the roster, but how exactly can you not see that Tito loves his vets? I'm not even saying that he doesn't trust the rookies, just that he loves his vets..

You brought up Holt, but he got all his playing time when Murphy (out 8/9-9/5) and Raburn (out 8/19-9/2) were out.

He's started all of 3 games since Murphy came off the DL, 2 of which have come since Raburn's season ended.. How exactly is that "trotting him out everyday"? He did that only when he had no choice, when Murphy & Raburn were both out.
Again, not sure why you want to blast Francona for not playing a rookies when he has, then saying he has no option to justify your argument. I can't argue with a straw man.

As for Gimenez, having a 245 average and .640 OPS going in vs. a .282 OPS is what got him the incredibly small amount of playing time. I am not sure why you seem to think .282 OPS guys need to be ran out there, or how that makes a successful team, but whatevs. Francona's options were limited to some bad optons but you seem to really value the worse option over the other and want to blast him over something so innocuous. Go for it, I guess.

All we need to force a tiebreaker is a sweep vs Tampa and either Oakland or KC to get swept :chuckle:

I will note Oakland has lost 6 of their last 9 games, including being swept by Texas, while Texas has won 10 of their last 11.

(I know, I know...)

All I'm doing is stating facts. Holt has only gotten time when both Murphy & Raburn were out, that's a fact. Can you honestly tell me Holt would've been playing consistently had Murphy & Raburn both been healthy? That's all I'm saying. I even gave you Ramirez.

And yes, I do think a guy who has helped the team win games this season (Walters) would've been a better option than a career .210 hitter who just joined the team. I already established that Gimenez has been just as awful lately as Walters. So why not go with the guy who's actually helped the team win?

I'm not even saying Walters should be getting AB's at this point either, but he certainly would've been a better option than Gimenez. Not sure why you think a career .210 hitter who just joined the team is the better option over a guy who has actually helped this team win games this season..

Now if what b00bie says is true & Walters is battling injuries, that's another story.

If it wasn't September, Gimenez wouldn't even be on the roster. He should just be insurance in case a catcher goes down.

It doesn't even matter, as we're arguing over 2 guys who shouldn't be starting right now, anyway :chuckle:

Here was the initial injury tweet, MoFlo.

Not sure what his current status is, though.

Chicago leads Kansas City 2-1. We need either KC or OAK to get swept along with Seattle (who won today) losing one of their last three.

Watch both get swept, the Indians take the first two, and drop the game Sunday lol

Yankees blowing Jeter's last home game, though he's due up third this inning.

If he walks off, I'll have to believe the world is ending

Royals win. The Indians only hope is a sweep and the A's losing the next three.
