Police Cam of Delonte West Getting Pulled Over

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Early on you can see him leaning way over on the right side of the spider. The first thing that came to my mind was that he was trying to lean it to turn it like a normal bike, but he was really exaggerating the lean because it has two front wheels. Does anyone know how long he had that bike? Maybe he was just testing her out? Ya know.....with a bunch of guns on him.

actually this is what i saying in one my earlier posts..it looks like he wasn't controlling it that well as those bikes handle differently than regular sportbikes...like it was one of his first times on the bike.

He was traveling as straight as an Adam Wainwright curveball.

The more I think about it the more I want to keep West, unless we are available to acquire a good player due to his friendly contract. I'm not talking about a fringe starter, in exchange for West I would want a legitimate young starter who could be a part of our current core (Hickson, Eyenga in my eyes).

I saw Delonte's media statement after he accepted the plea since I get the local DC news. He thanked the city of Cleveland for the support.

Delonte West reaches plea deal on gun charges; Wade defends LeBron: Cavaliers Insider

LAS VEGAS -- Cavaliers guard Delonte West's long-running legal case came to a conclusion with a guilty plea Thursday.

West pled to two misdemeanor weapons charges plus a traffic charge in Prince George's County, Md.,
but avoided jail time. He had been charged with six weapons counts.

After hearing West say he'd let down his young fans by his actions, Judge Graydon McKee sentenced West to eight months of court supervised electronic monitoring, 40 hours of community service and psychological counseling. The electronic monitoring, which is a form of house arrest, likely would not prevent West from playing or traveling with a team next season. But it depends on the rulings of the districts where West would live and play.

The Cavs had no comment on West's plea. An NBA spokesman said the league will review the case before deciding on disciplinary action. For similar offenses in the past, commissioner David Stern has suspended players three to five games without pay.

In conjunction with the hearing, police released dashboard camera footage from when West was pulled over on Interstate 495 outside Washington D.C., last September 17. The video shows West weaving in and out of his lane while on a three-wheeled motorcycle with police in pursuit before he pulled over.

West was found with two loaded handguns, a shotgun and a large knife with a significant amount of ammunition.

After two postponements, West was scheduled to go to trial on July 21 before the plea deal was reached. West has said he's been in treatment for bi-polar disorder for the last two years. West declined to comment on the arrest during last season.

The Cavs had several doctors working with West throughout the season which saw him going through numerous emotional times, including missing four practices during training camp without permission. He took an extended leave for the second consecutive year to seek treatment and several times was fined and benched during the season for missing flights or violating other rules.

West, 26, is under contract for one more season with a salary of $4.6 million but he's owed just $500,000 if he's waived by Aug. 3. The Cavs have been looking to trade West and there's a chance he'll be released if he's still with the team in August.

He averaged 8.8 points and 3.3 assists in his third season with the team.

Delonte is rebuilding his life. Keep him in Cleveland.

Show him loyalty and support.

Delonte could not stay in a damn lane...must have been high or drunk. And was it just me or did he ride a long ass time with the cops lights going?
It's not just you. Saw that too. From the time the flashers went on behind him to when he pulled over, 2 minutes had passed. A looooooong time.

He must have been having a serious manic episode and thought the flashers were part of the dark visions. Or, he was high. I say the former.

Sadly, the Cavs may have been his best opportunity to get healthy and still be NBA productive. While he's a fan favorite, my sense is they'll want to start fresh even after he's waived by another team and is available for "cheap." I commend the Cavs for doing the right thing though, trying to get him healthy.

Yeah dude was all over the place...

I have never rode one of those bikes but I do ride a motorcycle and it seemed to me Delonte had very little control of that bike...Those cops might have saved his life that night in more ways than one...

Delonte is my boy and I would love it if we could waive him and bring him back (is that allowed)Doubt it happens though, just wish the guy good luck and hope he has an awesome life...

you may have been right there..we don't know what he would have done that night ...he was all over the place..... this might even be a life changer for him.....

Clearly he didn't have a handle on the bike as he ended up pulling over at the bottom of the ditch when there was enough room to stay on the road. It seemed like he was looking for something like that instead of pulling over on the side of the bridge which he seemed he didn't want to do as he may have had some trouble.

A few months ago there was an article on here about the 50 Most Colorful Personalities on the Cavaliers over the past 40 years. It was stuff like "Joe Schmo would always take 3 platefuls at the team buffet" and "Sleepy Jones- who once missed the team bus 4 times in a season"...Delonte rewrote the book.

Props to anyone who can find that thread. I feel like I should go stuff the ballot box for Delonte and have the guy rewrite the article. Unbelievable stuff.

If we do trade him, I would try to get him back after he gets waived. Except that he has to wear jersey #23 or #6 then. Otherwise no deal.

Jesus he was drunk no getting around it, take your medicine and deal with it. The guy was hammered, if you can't handle the vehicle the heck you driving it.

:thumbdown

Homer or not christ you're going to kill someone

Edit: I like the guy but this is pretty extreme
