Police Cam of Delonte West Getting Pulled Over

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Jesus he was drunk no getting around it, take your medicine and deal with it. The guy was hammered, if you can't handle the vehicle the heck you driving it.

:thumbdown

Homer or not christ you're going to kill someone

Edit: I like the guy but this is pretty extreme

If he was drunk, he would have been charged with driving under the influence.

It's pretty clear that Delonte was in a manic state at the time and was possibly paranoid to a certain extent. It's clear that he was having an almost psychotic episode stemming from his bi-polar disorder. It's also clear that problems within his marriage might have been major contributors in the entire debacle along with maybe some skeletons from his past that we probably won't ever fully know about.

It's a sad situation. Delonte, when in his right state of mind, is one of my favorite athletes/basketball players of all time. It's a damned shame he has to go through all of these emotional problems. I hope he eventually finds inner peace and can live a relatively normal life.

Man I love Brotha Redz and hope we keep him which looks doubtful:( If we do get rid of him I wish him the very best and a very successful life. Delonte is a good guy.

West gets probation for firearm violations
Guard also sentenced to community service, psychological counseling

Associated Press

UPPER MARLBORO, MD.: Cavaliers guard Delonte West pleaded guilty Thursday to weapons charges.

In Prince George's County Circuit Court, Judge Graydon McKee sentenced West to eight months of electronic monitoring, two years of unsupervised probation, 40 hours of community service and psychological counseling.

Accompanied by his mother, girlfriend and uncle in court, West told Judge McKee he was ashamed.

He said he has been ''put on a pedestal'' because he can ''dribble a basketball,'' and worries about letting down youth who look up to athletes.

Authorities said the basketball player was carrying two loaded
handguns, a loaded shotgun and an 81/2-inch Bowie knife while speeding on a three-wheel motorcycle on the Capital Beltway last September. Police said West, who lives in Brandywine, Md., was pulled over after cutting off an officer.

West's attorney said the player had the weapons because he was transporting them from one home to another that he owns in the county, after his mother ordered him to remove them from one property.

NBA spokesman Tim Frank said in an e-mailed statement that the league would ''review the court's decision before making any disciplinary decisions.''

West, 26, has been a productive player during his two-plus seasons with the Cavs, but the past year has been a difficult one for him and the team.

Following his arrest on the weapons charges last September, West reported to the Cavaliers' training camp on time but missed the team's first four practices without an excuse. He returned but then left the team for a week to deal with personal matters. In October, his wife filed a domestic violence report against him.

Other than a brief question-and-answer session last year, West did not speak to reporters all season. The Cavs have tried to help West, who has battled bipolar disorder for years. He was often seen talking with a team psychologist following practices.

It's still possible the team could waive West, acquired in a 2008 trade

too depressing for me to watch.

actually this is what i saying in one my earlier posts..it looks like he wasn't controlling it that well as those bikes handle differently than regular sportbikes...like it was one of his first times on the bike.

That would demonstrate terrible judgment as well. Whatever it was, he wasn't thinking rationally.

Accompanied by his mother, girlfriend and uncle in court, West told Judge McKee he was ashamed.

How nice of Gloria to show support for Delonte at the court hearing...:chuckles:

Which girlfriend is this? Is this the wife or the girlfriend that slept with Lebron or gloria or someone else?

And was it just me or did he ride a long ass time with the cops lights going?

Not just you. I thought I was about to witness a police chase (and that perhaps I didn't have the whole story afterall).

Oh and fwiw, I went over to Google and asked for directions from Brandywine, MD to Fort Washington, MD, and it doesn't go anywhere near I-495. Even if he was telling the truth, it's obvious he was going somewhere else first - and nobody but nobody goes for a joy ride on the beltway.

New chick? MediaTakeOut calls her a couger but she doesn't look all that old to me.

That's not Kimmie. His wife, or ex-wife.

But, Delonte won't be a Cavalier come the start of this season I don't think. I would anticipate a trade, or release soon actually.

That's his lawyer. Brother Redz don't play.

Wait a minute...I think that's Savannah with a curly doo.

Before he fixes anything on the floor, he needs to fix what's left of his life. Dude was really close to having a near fatal or fatal accident and taking people to the office is nothing when you're stretched out in a coffin. Hopefully he gets the help he needs to control his shit.

West’s ankle bracelet prompts questions

CLEVELAND — NBA players are forbidden from wearing wedding rings, necklaces, and all other jewelry on the court.

But what about when their “fashion accessory” is court-ordered?

Cavaliers guard Delonte West will be wearing an electronic ankle bracelet — fitted with a GPS tracker to monitor his location — through mid-March 2011 as part of his sentence for weapons charges in Maryland.

Since the league’s regular season runs from late October through early April, it’s a question that needs an answer.

“It’s not something we’ve ever had to deal with before,” NBA spokesman Tim Frank told the Gazette. “Guess we’ll address that issue if we need to.”

As Frank noted, there is a good possibility the league won’t have to make a decision — and will avoid the public-relations hit that West’s situation would deliver.

The final year of West’s $4.65 million contract is not guaranteed and can be bought out for $500,000 prior to Aug. 5.

Cleveland is expected to release or trade him within the next 2½ weeks; both scenarios that would lead to the buyout being invoked for salary savings.

West’s plea agreement in Prince George’s (Md.) County Circuit Court mandates that he is only allowed to leave his residence to attend NBA practices, games, and team-related community events.

The 26-year-old, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disease, also must perform 40 hours of community service, serve 24 months of unsupervised probation, and undergo psychological counseling and alcohol screening. That sentence was handed down Thursday by circuit court judge Graydon S. McKee III in Upper Marlboro, Md.

someone mentioned him possibly being drunk, it appears alcohol may have played some part in all of this.

AGAIN..if he was under the influence...he would have been initially charged as being... the alcohol monitoring maybe is just something that goes along with the psych. evaluations.
