Potential destinations for Ramon Sessions

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not sure the salaries would work, but would you guys give up Varejao and Sessions for Iman Schumpert and Bill Walker?

It's gonna be Shumpert, Balkman, and Bibby for Sessions and our 2013 2nd rounder.
there is no way the knicks give up shumpert for a player who really doesn't improve the team all that much, if at all. the knicks fans wildly overrate him, i admit, but that doesn't mean he's a player who is traded for ramon sessions, either.

Yea, no longer do I think even the Knicks would give up anything for Sessions. There main problem on offense is the fact that they don't have a PG who can set their two big time players up. HOw the hell does Sessions fix that?

The thing with Shumpert and the Knicks is they are playing him out of position and he is expected to do well. They have Tony Douglas who is an undersized SG. At least Sessions could get the Knicks in their offensive sets. Also Baron Davis isn't a lock to 100% let alone 50% for the rest of the season. A back injury is no joke. NY has been looking at Sessions for a while also and they are desperate at this point to get help for their team before their fans explode.

I don't see how Sessions helps them with anything. So Shumpert isn't playing well out of position...well, Ramon doesn't play well in position. Amare, who desperately wants to run pick and roll, will be no better served by playing with Sessions, aka "I don't know how to wait untill the screener is set before going." He improves that team none.

True but the Knicks have had interest in Sessions and he has more experience at being a PG than Shumpert does. Either way I want Shumpert.

moving shumpert could get more and more realistic if they continue to struggle, but he won't be traded for anything cleveland can/would offer.

You underestimate the mindset of a desperate team especially in NY. Remember they traded the majority of their team for Carmelo just to make sure they get ther guy and keep the fans coming in.

yes but we are talking about an average pg whom they could sign outright in the upcoming off-season. overpaying for a player like that is a bit different than overpaying for one of the best scorers in the league.

even if sessions is "their guy," there will be better options in the off-season where they can even sign sessions himself. he obviously won't attract any additional fans, and really won't make the team into that much more of a threat.

nyk doesn't have many quality young prospects. giving away the best one for a player like ramon sessions just doesn't make sense and the knicks aren't close enough to being desperate to do that.

like i said above, if they do decide to move shumpert (which I don't think they will) they will absolutely be setting their sights higher than ramon sessions. and rightfully so.

Sessions dished out a lot of dimes early in his career. I think he could help the Knicks if he were just told(coach demanded) to drive and kick it back out instead of always going one on one.

or get into some three way with the Clippers and Mo williams.

Agree with most of everything except the bolded. The Knicks may be interested in trading for someone like Sessions (or any other player who could become a FA after the season) now instead of waiting for them to become a FA. This would then allow them to sign other players with their FA $$$, while still allowing them the ability to go over the cap and re-sign Sessions (or whomever).

But I do agree that Sessions isn't really the answer for them, and they're not likely to give up Shumpert for him. The best I think you could hope for is something like Douglas and Balkman

Agree with you Zone. I had also thought of the Douglas/Balkman possibility. Ideally you'd also like to get a pick back too. I'd hope for a future protected #1 but a #2 is more likely.
Douglas would at least bring a better defender and better perimeter shooter (although he's not showing so far this season) than Sessions.

Knicks like Shumpert and they just took him in the 1st round. Don't at all see them giving him up yet for Sessions.

Personally, I think Sessions is trash. But I also think Cole in Miami is trash.

Point? Being on a team full of great offensive players makes a PG look far different than playing on a team with one mediocre offensive player (AJ).

Hopefully, this is NY's rationale when analyzing Sessions.

I would probably be willing to deal them Varajao as well in addition to Sessions for Shumpert and a 1st.
