What will be the Browns win total?

I would agree with you IF we can run the ball effectively on offense. We all know the pass offense will be far below average so its really on the run game to control things.

If we can't run the ball well the defense will be on the field too much. I don't care how talented you are on that side of the ball, if you are never given a break you will wear down late in games. Not to mention injuries start piling up if they are on the field too much.

The difference between 4 wins and 8 is truly the run game.

Agree, how well we run the ball will be the biggest difference in our win total.

I've predicted between 5 to 8. Seems right in the range of what you have. Anything less than 4 to me is a colossal failure and tells me we regressed as a team.

If our running attack is really good, this team could win 8 games, as long as McCown isn't a 100 percent disaster at QB. I know he's going to be bad, but as long as he's not turning the ball over at a huge rate.

I went with 6. Because I think the running game will be good, and not great. And I do think McCown will be a complete disaster at QB.

I think this coordinator is going to have the offense playing like their heads are glued onto their asses too.

Yea I'm not too optimistic. 5 wins. I am also concerned about DeFilippo's offense. I fear we will see a lot of 14-22 for 135 yard games from McCown.

Did anyone else see Josh McCown diving head first on quarterback scrambles against his old team Tampa Bay in a MEANINGLESS preseason game? That was when I officially knew...

I'm rolling a four.

One series. That's all it took. I'm not even proud of calling that one.

I'm still sticking with my 6 pick. I said I could see this team winning 8 though, and although you can't overreact over one week, that looks to be not in the realm of possibilities. I didn't see anything to suggest that can happen.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they are a 4 win team though. I got to see how they respond next week. If they lose to Tennessee, even though Mariota looked good (it was against the shitty Bucs though), might as well devout majority of the discussion this year to the 2016 draft.

Not backing away from 11 wins. I have downgraded our chances of winning that 1st round playoff game though.

If we don't win next week, I honestly think we are staring a 1-9 / 2-8 ish start in the face. At that point, the team will just give up.

We can't run the ball at all and would then play 5 of the next 8 on the road (after TEN). Two of our 3 home games during that stretch are against teams that will likely be a 5-7 point favorite on the road (Denver, Arizona).

We should win next week with a good effort but from here out we're a few Manziel turnovers away from losing every game on our schedule.

I think they will win their next two games, but I wouldn't bet a dime on it.

That of course if Manziel isn't in there. I am not sure Manziel is capable of winning a game in the NFL. But he definitely wasn't the only issue yesterday.

We did not run the ball well, and my feelings were we'd have to be a top-5 rushing team to have a chance at 8. But this needs to be kept in mind, the Jets have maybe one of the best defensive fronts in football. They are really good in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

So, I wasn't that surprised we struggled to run the ball. I think we'll run the ball better than we did against the Jets, but yes, they're not going to be an elite rushing attack either.

If they lose to Tennessee the writing is on the wall, they're just a sad team this year.

The offense is going to be a nightmare. The defense will be above average. And if the offense wasn't so incredibly bad as it will be, the defense would be considered elite.

-7 wins.
-No WR will eclipse 1,000 yards
-No RB will eclipse 800 yards
-McCown will start fewer than 10 games and will be a bottom 5 QB statistically
-Manziel will start between 3-6 games and be a bottom 5 QB statistically
-Defense will allow under 19pts/game (top 5 in league)
-Offense will score under 19pts/game (bottom 3 in league)
-4 Pro Bowlers

I was way too over-optimistic.

You'll be much closer if you add those 1's together instead.

But you might be dead on about everything else, outside the defense being top-5.

I think they'll be in the top-10. I hope, and don't think they are as bad as they were yesterday.

4 wins. 5 tops. This team is shit, and you all know it.

It's more likely we win a game because the opposition fucked up rather than we won because we did the right things.

There just aren't enought "right things" about this team. They are going to be an abomination again, and the Cavaliers are the only thing saving them from a public witch hunt.

They'll fire Pettine, even though he wasn't given shit but some turds and asked to turn out a diamond.

It's cyclic. The entire franchise is cursed.

What about Hoyer's week? :chuckle:

Never a good Sunday to be a past or present Browns QB. At least for the last 20+ guys.

Hoyer had a stellar preseason, and it is hard to win on the road in week one, but I was absolutely shocked at how poorly he played. I'm interested to see if O'Brien goes to Mallet before one home game.
