Predictions One week Out for 12, 19 and 43

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You get Ray and Parker and you have an A Plus First Round!!!
I am hoping you are dead on!!

Did you know that Shane Ray will be sidelined for 5 months after foot surgery?

I wouldn't even give a flying fuck if he is sidelined for only 5mo., talent is too high to think of easily passing him up at 19. Is this toe surgery going to linger the rest of his career??

Wonder where Dupree & Harold will be going now.

Honestly, it's getting to the point where NOT taking an offensive lineman in the first two rounds will leave me satisfied.

The offensive line is fine.

My ideal scenario:

12 - Shelton
19 - Perriman
43 - Petty

I don't get the love for Perriman. He's a 2nd round guy who is now mid 1st because he ran a 4.2 something at his pro day. Prototypical height/weight/speed guy with a lot of growing to do running routes and poor hands.

I disagree about the poor hands, but he's always been a stud.

Just not well known guy because of where he plays.

His QB this year may have been the worst in terms of ball placement I've ever seen, too. I mean, he was hilariously bad. I don't blame Perriman for all those drops.

IMO, though, he's pretty firmly 5th on the list of WRs, behind Cooper, White, Parker, and Agholor.

Wow, I had no idea that had gotten that bad. He is a top 10 talent, hands down though IMO. I dont think I would pass on 19.

I watched some Perriman plays during my winter break around the holidays and immediately took notice of #1 receiver physical gifts. That guy just toys with cornerbacks the same way I saw Cooper and White just destroy a cornerback's confidence. Aside from consistent hands, he looked like the third best receiver in this class and a definite #1 receiver in the NFL. Bowe and Hartline have never looked so threatening to the defense in their careers.

One thing I haven't been able to understand is the obsession with moving Schwartz to RG. The problem with the offensive line is depth, not top-end talent. The guy seems like a solid tackle, and on an elite offensive line I'd rather see him stay at right tackle for pass protection with a true road grader at right guard. I'd rather see the Browns grab a center/guard depth lineman in the 4th round.

My money is on Farmer trading down in a few spots due to all the holes on the roster. I think he might be able to move down from 12 and still get a solid 5 technique defensive lineman, a nose tackle, Maxx Williams (the only tight end I'm interested in drafting), and a #1 receiver in the first three rounds.

Clive Walford, for my money, is better value and talent than Maxx Williams

I don't think you'll get either if you don't pick one of them by 43. Both will likely be gone by by 77, from what I've been gathering.

Walford seems like a future H back who opens holes and gets 2-3 targets a game, I hope he isn't selected by a team I follow before the 4th round. If he goes before that, its because this draft class isn't very good and the Browns have created a desperate situation for themselves.

Williams doesn't strike me as a "wow" athlete who can change an offense, but I keep reading the Jeremy Shockey comparisons and that seems about right to me. If DeFilippo runs the offense here like he did in Oakland, Williams would be a threat if the Browns trade down.

FWIW. Always 2 sides to everything.

With no trades..

12 - Danny Shelton, DT, Washington
19 - Randy Gregory, OLB, Nebraska
43 - Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota

I'm just not convinced at all that the Browns are going to pick a WR in the first round.

If he checks out medically, I could easily see this too...

12 - Shane Ray, OLB, Missouri
19 - Malcolm Brown, DT, Texas
