Progressive Field Renovations Planned Over 2 Years

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wait, did you just compare Santa Claus to Chief Wahoo? That is like how Turkish PM Erdogan calling the Israelis to Hitler.

/threadcompletelyderailed

I assume you are kidding, but in all actuality Chief Wahoo and Santa are not being compared at all in the statement.
Glad to see the plans, they are well over due.

Keep people like Pyro happy by saying nothing will change, then actually start phasing it out little by little because it's so badly in need of being put away.

I'm just going to respond to this, then I am dropping it, because I really don't give a shit.

They can keep the Chief Wahoo, they can remove the Chief Wahoo completely, it won't matter to me, because I will continue to wear all of my Indians gear that has Chief Wahoo on it because it it/was our logo at one point.

You can erase the future, but you can't erase the past.

So the social area is cool to look at.. but who the hell is actually going to want to be all the way up there? Those seats suck, and the views are awful. They better have more than just some tables with red umbrellas to really attract people to go up there.

The rest of the changes are completely awesome and I cant wait to see them. Im just not sure how usable that addition is really going to be, not that those seats were ever being used anymore anyways though.

A few thoughts:

- I'm surprised at how many people are bashing the food quality/service. I don't think it's great, but it's not nearly as bad as others are making it out to be. Most importantly, you can take food into the game. I repeat - you can take food into the game. If you're buying hot dogs in the stadium, you're doing it wrong. There are several street vendors with great, affordable options. Did I mention you can take food from outside into the game?

- Happy to see the Larry Doby statue. Much deserved and a long time coming.

- Overall I love the ideas presented. Progressive Field is a beautiful ballpark but teams need to continually be looking at ways to upgrade fan experience.

That's not the point. Just because you can take food into the game doesn't mean the stadium itself gets a free pass on quality. If someone is hungry in the 6th inning, they're not going to find a street vendor in the park. My mindset is, I'm going to a game so I'm prepared to spend money. Certainly not going to go if I know I can't afford food there as well.

As I said earlier though, the nachos are good enough for me, but the other food is lacking. Got something as simple as hot dogs and fries because I was hungry later on, and while the hot dogs are lacking, the fries were god awful. I don't know if it was just the area I bought it from, but yea, terrible.

My goodness.

Nothing but complaining of bullshit on the first page. From food to service. What do you guys expect? This is an American baseball game. Nothing about this event is supposed to be pretty or perfect.

This team is offering one of the best remodeling plans that any MLB team can put together. Just appreciate it. It's a baseball stadium paying people $7.75 an hour to serve you fries & hot dogs....not entree's.

Doesn't seem to be a huge problem for the multitude of teams who do it better.

And I'm including minor league teams as well. They really don't even stack up with most of those.

The pay is actually about 10 an hour.
Though I agree.

The food is affordable and, IMO, is good...not great, but good. I'm a season ticket holder, so maybe I just have a larger number of experiences to base it on? Maybe, as you said, you just hit a bad area.

Just drink enough and all food tastes great

Well part of the renovation is adding a giant bar so they are in a way thinking along these lines. Hell, it even features a replica of a World Series trophy this team has never won, so they are even encouraging drinking out of frustration.

Hopefully this giant bar includes some decent beer options, especially local ones (Great Lakes, Fatheads, etc.)

When your best beer option outside of Bud/Miller/Coors is Leinenkugel... you're doing it wrong. This is primarily why I've enjoyed venturing up to the Terrace Club during games in the past. Way better food and way better beers.

The Tribe has never won the current World Series trophy. First awarded in 1967. This guy:

Wow. Came along way since the days I worked at the Jake as a 16 year old serving beer to the club lounge for $5.15 an hour.
