Q Arena Renovations (scoreboard, court, ...) and In-Game Experience

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't know where to put this, but saw a tweet that had me thinking the same thing...

are the Cavs players all genuinely good guys? or is our PR team just the best out there?

I can't be the only one with the theme song stuck in my head right now... especially not after I reminded you of it too...

If there was to be something that you could say 'that is SO Cleveland' it would be that scoreboard falling during an introduction and killing our starting lineup at center court. Before Game 4 of the NBA Finals. With the Cavs up 3-0Just sayin'.

Don't laugh. We were in game six of the Eastern Conference Finals vesus Detroit in 2007 at home when the shot clock broke. This required the PA announcer to use the PA sound sysem to orally announced the shot clock countdown once it hit 5 seconds or so.

The result was that Amad could not use the PA sound system to rile up the crowd. The whole crowd was then silent and the Pistons kept themselves in the game.

Then the shot clock was fixed at halftime, Amad could use the sound system and Boobie went off.

But it could have been the shot clock malfunction that costs us a trip to the Finals that would go down in Cleveland lore.

Only in Cleveland...or at least almost in Cleveland.

Here is another angle on the new Q arena banner:

Looks great!

Did anyone else notice that with the new scoreboard wrapped in black the ends on the baseline sides are shaped like the state of Ohio or it could just be upside down triangle/upside down pentagon type shape idk -- maybe my mind was just too focused on the skyline and home type feel

Other teams going along in Cavs foot steps and doing new court designs,

Both look solid.

I can't wait to see the Hornets court live.

Anyone else see this nonsense?

Report: Cleveland Cavaliers have to change their court
by Andrew Melnick

According to a report, the Cleveland Cavaliers will have to change their court.
There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cleveland Cavaliers convinced LeBron James to re-join the team in the offseason and then traded for Minnesota Timberwolves’ star Kevin Love. The Cleveland Cavaliers will add them to all-star Kyrie Irving to form their own big three.

With that change came change to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ jerseys and their home court, the Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cleveland Cavaliers designed a new court that featured the Cleveland skyline. It received mixed reviews from the general public but the city of Cleveland was certainly in favor of the change.

According to a source of Believeland Insider, the new court must be changed.

Got a text this morning from my source, telling me about his time at Quicken Loans arena and that he had unfortunate news as well! First off he had the opportunity to see the new scoreboard screen and it is massive! The Full screen goes from free throw line to free throw line!

However, the bad news is that the Cavs have to change their new court! The NBA has warned Cleveland that it’s because of the skyline and Cleveland on the floor. They just can’t have that. If they continue to have that, it will be a $100k fine for each game, and after 4 games they forfeit games!

The fans will be upset about the change but chances are LeBron James will make them quickly forget.

Yeah, I would assume that NBA teams have to, you know, clear court changes with the league and that the Cavs, being an NBA team, did so before creating the new court.

Also, the idea that the NBA would make teams forfeit games for something like that is absurd.
