Devils pass - for a cheap film 7.5 out of 10. Way better than I expected, really need to pay attention at all times to really "get" the movie. It's on netflix.

I, Frankenstein - 4/10

So - There is a war between Demons and Gargoyles (yes, they are the good guys). Demons are easy to kill but are many in number, but Gargoyles are few. For the demons to return to earth, they must possess a live human body that has no soul (Which is where the Frankenstein monster comes into picture). The demons want to create an army of Frankenstein's monster to destroy the gargoyles and mankind. Well, Aaron Eckhart is a decent actor but this movie so poorly made with even crappier CGI that there is no way this movie could be saved. It has the feel of a SCIFI channel movie to it.

Got around to watching The Act of Killing before the Oscars tonight... very odd, but powerful stuff. You are left without closure as the documentary presents a lot of questions across several characters and even they are still dealing with the consequences of their actions decades ago (whether they all admit it or not). I'm still not sure if it will win Best Doc but it's between this and Dirty Wars in my opinion. FYI, 4/5 documentaries up for the Academy Award can be found on Netflix and all are worth a watch:

Dirty Wars
The Act of Killing
The Square
Cutie and the Boxer

Well I have seen most of the movies that have been in conversation for best picture and the only one I came away disappointed with was Inside Llewyn Davis.

everyone itt should be seeing this on the 14th whether it's in the theater or rent/bought/torrented online. first 2min:

edit: no movie spoilers but some from tv series

Veronica Mars always struck me as a show that was designed for teenage girls.

:chuckles: That's because it was. It has a cult following of all types though. To deny it was made for teenage girls would just be false. I watched the first few episodes on Amazon Instant because of all the hype around it, I don't really get it. It's basically Nancy Drew.

that's like saying friday night lights is some lame football show designed for football fans.

gossip girl is a show designed for teenage girls; veronica mars is a well-written piece of excellent television that happens to be set at a hs with (primarily) teenage characters and a female lead. there's a reason it received widespread critical acclaim and praise from super respected people like joss whedon. the fanbase isn't just a bunch of teenyboppers like high school musical.

Probably true. I have 3 sisters that all loved it. Really is a pretty good show though.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think teenage girls were the target demographic. That doesn't make it a bad show, I'm sure it was very well written as it wouldn't have gotten the acclaim it did otherwise.

WAtching the Oscars ... bored out of my mind - Ellen is such a horrible host, is her show also this bad? I cant understand what is so funny about half of the jokes!

HOMOPHOBE.

I think Ellen has been pretty entertaining. Never really watched The Oscars until this year though.

help me understand what exactly is soo funny about Ellen ordering pizza and giving pizzas to all the so called big actors?

Veronica Mars is for teenage girls and 30 year old symps.

Loved the movie Gravity.. Thought it was great, and very refreshing.. but... Best Director?? Give me a break.

Dallas Buyer's Club and 12 Years a Slave were both far better films, on multiple levels. I can understand Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, etc.. But.. Best Director?

Just not understanding that one.

Leo is the man but Matthew McConaughey deserved that 100%. He killed his role in DBC.
