We have argued about The Rock before. And it is great and you're all stupid.

It's quintessentially a Michael Bay movie, but it leaves out the pointless, awful comedy bits like he tried to do in the last 2 Transformers that have sucked. Also it has Connery, and right there you've got something different. Bay + Connery = awesome.

I feel like the original Predator is simply the greatest action movie of all time. So many cool characters, settings and moments. It's also one of Arnolds best acting roles as well. I remember watching the movie with my Dad when I was like 10 and his ending line to The Predator made us both look at each other and laugh our asses off in satisfaction. It was just a damn good ride that you never wanted to end.

10/10.

Sorry but Die Hard is the best action movie of all time. McClane is just a pure badass.

Predator is an awesome action movie, but I don't think it's as good as Terminator 2 as far as Arnold movies go. True Lies and the first Terminator could challenge it as well. Total Recall was great too, although I think Predator holds up better now.

I've also always had a soft spot for Last Action Hero. I really don't understand the hate that movie gets. It's like no one realizes it's supposed to be a parody.

Blasphemy. It's one of the best action movies ever made.

You must not have seen many action movies. The Rock is easily below a 5/10. It's pathetic.

Not every movie has to be 12 Years a Slave.

Interesting, out of left field comparison. Why that movie is on the tip of your tongue is kinda strange.

We're allowed to have some fucking fun from time to time.

Agreed... which I why I would avoid watching the frustratingly bad movie "The Rock."

Zodiac (2007)

10/10.

Suspenseful as heck. Loved it.

Greatest action movie of all time, in my book, definitely goes to The Matrix.

Gourimoko's definitive list:

1) The Matrix
2) Aliens
3) The Terminator
4) Raiders of the Lost Ark
5) Die Hard
6) Mad Max
7) The Road Warrior
8) The Dark Knight
9) First Blood
10) Terminator 2

Honorable Mentions: Bloodsport, Lethal Weapon, Robocop, Total Recall, Ronin, The Bourne Identity, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Tim Burton's Batman, and Predator.

I left off Westerns, Animes, classics (i.e. The Dirty Dozen), and Kung-Fu films, all of which I enjoy, to keep the list easily comparable.

I also did not put up movies that are so bad they're good like Death Wish, and also mild parodies like Action Jackson because they seem to blend genres.

p.s.
I was surprised Predator wasn't higher on the list once I re-read it. I've always thought of it as Top 3, but when going back and really thinking about it, it's not. I can't say it's really a better movie than any of those, even though I absolutely love the Predator series.

For the fuck of it...

Gourimoko's Definitive Top 10 Sci-Fi Movies of All Time:

1) Blade Runner
2) Inception
3) The Matrix (yep...)
4) 2001: A Space Odyssey
5) Alien
6) A Clockwork Orange
7) Gattaca
8) Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
9) Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan
10) Tron

I left off certain movies that blend genres too much (The Fountain), and also movies that are complete fantasy (LOTR). I included some films that are blend some other genres, but needed to be mentioned.

Monuments Men

3/10

Had the potential to be an unbelievable movie because of its story but none of the characters were developed whatsoever throughout the movie. Terrible.

Fuck. The Matrix was so good. One of my favorite movies ever period.

Zodiac (2007)

10/10.

Suspenseful as heck. Loved it.

Zodiac was really good.

Mark Ruffalo is very under-rated and I wish he was in more good movies. He's a really good, believable actor.

I remember my friend stood up in the theater when Neo was dodging bullets. After the movie, we went to Wal-Mart, where he proceeded to try and run along side the wall. The movie clearly left an impression on him, as well as others. A complete "WTF did we just witness?!"

Keanu was a perfect choice.

Anybody else see Bad Words yet? I'm curious to hear opinions. I could see people giving it an F or A+ depending on the person.

The Matrix was great, the sequals sucked.

Just watched seven psychopaths. Felt that since I like almost every actor in the movie, that I would love it. It was meh. 5-5.5/10

Watched the Spiderman with that Garfield kid. Didn't really like the change up to his dad was working on the project that led to him becoming spiderman. Also, nothing new here. Not sure why it was remade as the Toby McGuire version was better not that long ago. At least tell a different story or something.
