Watch the one about the cannibal war lords in Africa. Holy shit.

He's speaking about the HBO series which are only a half hour long. I believe Bill Maher produces the show on HBO based on their previous work.

I happened to watch this documentary in its entirety. All I can say is the UN should rethink leaving within the coming months (if not already) with Joshua peaking his head out around the corner. It has "Kill for God" written all over it.

Props to Shane for going to places you couldn't pay me to go into. It was deathwish... and I'm only talking about the shit filled beaches.

God, i fucking hate Bill Maher.

Silver Linings Playbook 10/10.

I may or may not have teared up a few times.

Is anyone really a fan of Michael Bay? I think he made one awesome action move (The Rock), a couple of watchable action movies, and a bunch of shitty action movies. I would say The Rock is arguably a top five action movie of all time, behind Terminator 2, Die Hard, and Aliens. It's in that 4-6 area with True Lies and Face/Off. It also does everything you could possibly ask of action movie. It has perfect actors for all the key roles, fantastic one-liners, great set pieces (the gunfight in the shower room is brilliant), a couple of great villains, and an awesome plot for an action flick (breaking IN to Alcatraz). As an action movie, there is literally nothing wrong with it. And it passes the re-watch test. I can re-watch it basically whenever I want and I still enjoy it. Only a couple of other great action movies pass that test, and they're all in my top five to ten.

Seriously...fuck anyone who says The Rock is bad. You're a horrible person and you should feel bad. :chuckles:

Yes, that scene was good...probably the only part of the movie I thought was good. :chuckles:

The Rock isn't available via Netflix/Amazon Prime. So, I watched Mud -- Matthew McConaughey. He is consistent with the roles he's been taking. I wouldn't call the film great, but it held my attention, for the most part. 6/10

Casino was on last night. Forgot how awesome that movie is.

Also, anyone else seen these VICE documentaries? I got HBO when I switched to Fios and so far I've seen two. One was about where our money is being spent in Afghanistan, and last night there was one on about the underworld of the metal scrapping business. A lot of the filming took place on the East side of Cleveland. Pretty cazy, well done documentaries.

Thanks for the heads up. I know it's some dumb cause I have but Metal Scrapping is one of my biggest pet peeves as a social issue and it's just the easiest thing to point towards showing how fucked up this nation is getting. The fact that it's tolerated that people will break into houses and steal thousands of dollars worth of plumbing work and sell that for tens to hundreds of dollars is utterly appalling and it should be the type of criminal offense that sends people to jail for decades. It's basically the rape equivalent of a property type crime.

And the scrapyard owners are horrible.

Eh, I don't see a major issue with scrapping abandoned property. The stuff that pisses me off is when they scrap power substations and peoples houses and churches type stuff. Break into someone's basement and cut all their pipes.

Watched Drinking Buddies on Netflix. Was recommended by a friend and I still have no clue why. Some good actors and actresses were in it, but at the end of the movie all I could think was what the fuck was the point of that. One of the worst stories for a movie ever. 3/10.

And I'm regard to best action movies, Shooter has to be up there. Haven't seen it in awhile but I used to watch that movie so much. Saving Private Ryan as well if you count war movies as action movies.

Wtf??

Might be the wrong thread for this, but I don't know if I've anticipated a movie more than the new Raid 2 (sequel to The Raid Redemption) in a long while. All reviews have been stellar thus far and claim that it has far surpassed the original. For those not in the know, The Raid was an amazing action movie set in Jakarta where a SWAT team invades a large building compound full of drug lords/violent individuals. They get stuck in the building and have to fight their way out. Lot of amazingly choreographed hand-to-hand combat with gunplay mixed in. Basically the best film in the genre within the last decade.

If anyone is interested in that type of stuff (Gour, you mentioned an interest in the CA thread) you need to see the first one and then check out the new one when it comes out. Raid 2 (continuation of the first) is supposed to be even more violent while plot is much more in-depth and even more beautifully shot. April 11th at Cedar Lee if you're in Cleveland.

One of the most amazing films I have ever seen in my life. In my Top 5 movies of All-Time, of any genre.

Think you can help me piece all of this together? My god that movie was unbelievable and I get the main jest of it, but it was definitely a little confusing.
