So I watched Prisoners. People talk about how dark television is these days. All of the best shows are shows where the world basically sucks. None of them really have impacted me in a negative way though.

But I have to say, this damn movie was about as dark of a thing as I want to watch. I pretty much felt like shit after watching it. It was good, but I won't watch it again.

That's exactly how I felt about it. I had a friend ask me if they should watch it, and I honestly didn't know how to answer that question. I basically said you'll feel awful at the end of it.

I remember watching it and within the first 15 minutes thinking "I think this was a bad choice", because of how dark and twisted it got. But the more the movie went on, the worse that feeling got.

You know a film has done it's job when you feel a certain way about it. That's one of those rare movies that I'll say was good, but will not watch again. Which doesn't happen too often.

I watched it again. It was done too well for me not to.

Seven. Did what it set out to do, but I kind of wish I'd never seen it.

Rock n Rollah Ayatollah.

I would watch Se7en again and now I want to watch this Prisoners. What I will not watch again is Requiem for a Dream. My god...

Requiem for a Dream was magnificent nightmare. Masterpiece of a film. It's definitely a one-time deal though.

That's because a show where everyone was happy and had a great life would be boring. :chuckles:

Jigo, was it you who said Memento was good, and it turned out to be extremely overrated and not good at all?

I said I had heard it was good and thought it was over-rated when I watched it.

I'm just going to go ahead and say that you said it was fantastic and the greatest film you've ever seen.
Thus, making me believe that you give crappy movie advice.

Chardon has better recommendations than you!

Memento is a great movie... Really haven't seen a bad Christopher Nolan film to be honest. But I watched Momento again recently and enjoyed it quite a bit. I give him credit for the thought provoking narrative style.

Anyway recent movies I've seen:

Oculus - Great horror movie. Low-budget, but still good! Some plot holes, but definitely worth watching 8/10

House of the Devil - recently watched it for the 4th time, still a great film, dunno why more haven't been made in it's style (other than The Conjuring) 8/10

Transcendence - What a let down... damn I hoped it would be good. But there are so many plot holes. I can't help but to think that the edit room must have been filled with cuts because conversations are had throughout the film that relate to basically nothing. As if entire sections of them are missing. Overall the movie is watchable, but the third and final act is so bad that it ruins the film. 3.5/10.

I'm missing some but will post later.

Gouri,

Did you see Dark Skies? Watched it recently and really dug it. Stuck with me for about 48 hours which is pretty good.

Watched Mothman Prophecies recently too. Creepy, good atmosphere but the end was somewhat of a let-down. Would have enjoyed seeing more of the Mothman himself or at least hints of him.
