Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day - 9/10

I was very skeptical about this movie and how it would be after the first one... It did not really seem like a good movie to make a sequel to because I felt like they wrapped it up nicely after the first one. But overall I loved number two just as much as I loved number one. There was lots of comedy in number two as well as smart dialogue and kick-ass action scenes you would expect after watching number one. Not to mention Julie Benz ("Rita" from the HBO show "Dexter") looks smoking hot and gives you something else to watch for. If you have not seen number one, then I would highly recommend seeing that before the sequel because it flows into it perfectly...

Pirate Radio 7.5 / 10 kind of long but a good story and good music

Funny People 5/10... I think there was only 3 funny parts. It was actually a more serious movie than a comedy.

2012 - 9/10 Great movie, great special effects, great acting, just great overall

LOL Great post

Not serious right?

Anywho:

Die Hard

9.8/10

Best action movie EVER.

Oh come on. You saw how that Russkie turned on that car. :chuckles:

2012 was surprisingly good.

I'll give it a 7/10

As ridiculous as the premise is and no matter how terrible John Cusack and Danny Glover are I was entertained for a full 2 and a half hours. It didn't drag at any point, the special effects are the best I've ever seen in a movie. Transformers was a spectacle but Michael Bay's quick camera cuts never really let you see anything, it was all just a blur of metal parts. This movie had a lot of shots that I was really impressed with. Sure makes me think twice about living this close to the San Andreas fault. :chuckles:

Any time I see Danny Glover on screen I can't help but laugh and imagine him saying "I'm too old for this shit!" when a giant tsunami is about to drop the USS JFK on his head but the writing and acting was a lot better than I thought it would be. There were a few unintentionally funny moments but there were also a lot of INTENTIONALLY funny moments. I thought it had the right amount of comic relief(Woody Harrelson was perfect) to keep you from getting to depressed about the whole end of the world thing.

The acting and dialogue weren't great and the plot had its fair share of cliches now that I think about it but nothing in the movie(except Danny Glover) was distracting enough to take away from the experience.

Oh, no doubt, 2012 is batshit hilarious. It isn't supposed to be though. On pure entertainment, it's a fun movie.

Not rating a movie, but didn't want to make a new thread...I'm writing a paper on the movie "Blood Diamond" and need these two questions answered and I don't have time to watch it...

Near the film’s end, action shifts to London. Describe briefly what happens in London
(one sentence). In another sentence, explain how events in London relate to events in Sierra
Leone with respect to the topic of this movie?

Thanks

Yeah, I know that song.

It's not my idea, its for my Geo1000 class. Papers due before 9 and I got other stuff to do, so if anybody has seen it, answers would be greatly appreciated.

2012 - 7/10

I went to see this movie solely for a fun popcorn flick with great special effects and I wasn't disappointed. I have no idea what anyone else is talking about when they mention a great story or great acting though.

The story was pure cheese and the dialogue was just as bad. You couldn't watch a scene without a cliche or two or something so totally ridiculous that it was laughable. The laws of physics need not apply at any point. Cusack isn't an action star at all and he was completely out of place dropping the ridiculous lines that you'd normally expect from an action star.

You know what though? It was fun. Very fun. That's why I saw it and I got my money's worth. I wish they would've broken the piggybank containing their $200M budget on a good screenplay, but you can't win 'em all.

You should watch the movie sometime regardless. Very very good.

edit: Definitely missed your 2nd post. My bad.

It's been a while since I saw the film, but the action shifts to London when the chick reporter sets up a scenario where she can capture photographs of the diamond company purchasing blood diamonds from the main character, Solomon (I think that was his name). You can probably just Wikipedia it for a more detailed description.

Or:

Since you're probably in Eastern time zone, this post didn't help you at all. Maybe next time? :chuckles:
