Watched the new Halloween. That was fucking fun. There was some shitty dialogue occasionally, especially when the various high school kids were interacting with each other, and it's strange that a film written in part by Danny McBride stumbles most the few times it tries to be funny, but overall it's just a great horror movie and a suitable follow up to the original Halloween.

It kind of just ignores all the other sequels and pretends they didn't happen, which is fine because I don't really remember much from them anyway. It takes place forty years to the day after the original, and shockingly Michael Myers escapes custody and gets to murdering. There are some things that feel like plot holes early, but they do get mostly wrapped up later.

The best part of the movie is the last twenty to thirty minutes. Just a great final stretch and a satisfying ending.

Definitely worth watching.

Watched Bird Box. Agree with whoever said it was like The Happening if it didn't suck. It's still not a great movie, and it leaves pretty much every question unanswered, but it's a watchable 6 out of 10.

Probably would have liked it more had I not watched the new Halloween last night, which was a better horror movie with a far superior ending.

Decent. The easy description is A Quiet Place meets The Happening but without eyes. It's like a rich man's TV movie.

Thought it had the same problem as A Quiet Place where the ending just doesn't match up to the first hour and a half.

I thought the problem with A Quite Place was

The girl with the solution didn't figure it out until her dad died - I particularly noticed that because I went to the movie with my daughters

Was anyone else's Netflix screwy after Bandersnatch ended?

Everything in mine was blank in all the preview screens after backing out of Black Mirror.

I just watched the Mule with Clint Eastwood. Ehhh, I'd say 6 outta 10. Went with the girl so I can't be mad at all. it's pretty much how you would guess a movie about a 90 year old drug runner. It was good, it just could have been better.

Saw Vice on NYE, solid movie. Didn't quite meet my expectations thought, 7/10.

I think Netflix would release movies in theaters if they truely felt they had a movie worth of it. Like you said rich man's TV movie is a good description of most Netflix orginal movies and that's where I usually put my expectations.

How biased is it and how much is it just speculative filler?

As a liberal, I didn't feel like Cheney was painted as a bad guy per se, just more of a guy who was power hungry and willing to do anything to get it. Kind of how I think most politicians are.

Really enjoyed Hereditary. I watched it the first time not paying close attention and found myself in and out of the experience until the last 45 minutes but I’m glad I gave it another viewing.

9/10.

Toni Colette deserves an Oscar nod for this one man. Wow.

Mule- Went to see it with my parents over Christmas. Not bad not amazing but pretty solid overall. I'd say 6-7/10.

Bird Box- Good concept and fun to watch. But the end was sorta derp and rushed. 7/10.

Saw Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World was on Netflix so gave it a re-watch. I've watched a ton of action movies, but I'm not sure there's a film out there that better bends over my surround sound system than this film. Between the awesome music and sound design and the phenomenal editing, this movie is really just an audio/visual treat.
