RCF Fantasy Hoops Vets League 2011-12

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just got a horrid offer from supergoat, so it would seem you're all not alone. I think I made a fair counter-offer.

RCF has a poster named supergoat...and he's in the vet league? I just realized both of those facts just now.

Carlos Delfino is your 10th rounder who is getting some playing time right now, but plays the same position as the healing Dunleavy, Mbah a Moute, and Jon Lauer. Of course, you also know that he is about to drop back to earth under a coach in Skiles who juggles lineups, which is why you are offering him in trades for people's 7th and 8th rounders.

So basically, everyone has called you on your bullshit. Now make better offers, and try doing it via PMs so we can negotiate.

What round he was taken in should be irrelevant, spencer hawes was taken in the last round and ryan anderson in the 9th, but i wouldn't trade either of them for anybody's 7th or 8th rounders. If you believe he is going to 'come back down' thats fine, thats what i believe too as you stated. However trying to 'sell high' on a player is not 'bullshit'. People have different evaluations of different players, otherwise trades would never really happen except to shift stats from one column to another.

Trade negotiations via pm is a great idea, and i will start that. I have never been in a league with that option before so i apologize for going against the conventions. In my other leagues the fastest way to gauge interest is to send out a quick trade request, and the person says "i don't like delfino, i do like chandler" and counters, and we go back and forth a few times and find something if it works. That is obviously not the culture in this league and i will be more careful with my first offers from now.

Now for crying out loud, stop bashing on the new guy who is 'too active' or whatever. I'm not sitting on a dead team and i like trades a lot. Obviously making quick trade offers to gauge interest is not accepted in this league, lesson learned. Now move on.

:chuckles: Thanks for the Krispy Kremes. Everyone discussing your trade offers in here made my day, rookie.

BTW Max: Your trade offer was hilarious. Well done.

Bah, i guess i've got to take a few lumps. I know i've said it before how grateful i am for this opportunity, and of course i don't want to step on people's toes. However i'm extremely competitive and am not going to just sit back for a year to establish credibility. I want to win, and i figured "maybe Keys is desperate", which, obviously, you aren't.

Btw you guys are going to give me money for the donuts next week right? ...right? ...guys?

I'm never desperate early in the season. I've got a team full of rookies that only seem to get better each day. There are young veterans that can be moved. I'm willing to package solid players for 1 stud. It's not against my nature. I just have to feel a reason where I'm coming ahead in the deal.

Cool, that's the exact kind of info i'm looking for, and that i know about no one. Thank you.

I'm sure during the course of the season other people will think i'm trying to lowball them, but for the record, especially now, i'm not. Its just inevitable when you make a lot of offers that some are perceived better than others. For example i almost offered ty lawson for westbrook today. I'm sure some people in the league think thats a huge lowball for westbrook, but lawson is outplaying him in every way so far and the person getting him probably comes out ahead, although westbrook certainly has a higher ceiling. Point is, i don't know what side of that argument you come down on until i make the offer, so please don't get offended.

Umm, hello, arcade champion? Geez, its like, that doesn't even mean anything. :)

I don't see where anyone got offended... I see that the new guy got fucked with, and it was very entertaining for me personally.

BTW: I pulled two trades last year, and I felt they were fairly even. They required a lot of back and forth, and eventually the two parties agreed on equal value... but with different goals in mind. Example: I traded better assist to turnover numbers and rebounding to X for better scoring and field goal percentage. As I recall, X got Jennings, Gortat and some kind of filler as the main widgets while I got Wall, Derozan, and some other filler. At least, I think that's how it went. Anyways, the trade was pretty even in talent with different goals in mind.

Those are the type of trades I try to broker.

Understood, those are the kind of deals i avoid till late in the season. I'm much more interested in trades involving vastly under/over performing players, where individual stats don't matter so much and its just about talent. I'm much more interested trying to trade for westbrook, brook lopez, or steph curry than adjusting stats. Its high risk/high reward obviously, but i like it because to me it turns mediocre seasons into either terrible or dominate ones, and like a lot of people i only count league wins.

Point taken though.

supergoat...respond to my trade offer!!! I offered you a top three player in the league. This can happen.

Horford out 3-4 months with torn pectoral. Sorry, X.

Yup, say goodbye to my season.

Funny, I literally said no to Horford/Chandler swap because Horford was less likely to get hurt.

Okay God, I know you exist and enjoy fucking me.

ok who should i get from free agency because horford is out? hansborough or marion? (i know this isn't the appropriate thread and im not in the same league, but help a fellow fantasy brother out)

Hansbrough. He plays a primary role on that team and he has some big rebounding nights.

Can people start making me some goddamn offers? Only way for me to have fun with this at this point.

Christ, you can pick from players of that caliber? There's probably a million players you should be picking up. You know who I had to replace Horford with? Omer Asik and Chandler Parsons.
