Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Mayfield wasn't my first choice...or second, but the dude is a gamer and is accurate..and was my favorite if that makes sense. Happily will give him a chance and hope like hell it works out for once.

the wind in the central US is just a strong as cleveland. If mayfield can throw the ball through that he can deal with the elements.

Yeah got agree with that.

Oklahoma wind can be insane. (and annoying)

The Browns have passed on too many quarterbacks recently. I'm just happy they picked a quarterback at #1 and DID NOT trade down from #4. No matter what quarterback you pick it's a roll of the dice. But you have to roll the dice with somebody. There is no perfect, magical QB ever coming out of the draft. Every QB every year has some flaws and question marks. Glad they picked someone and didn't "kick the can down the road" in searching for a franchise guy.

So isn't Grossi supposed to quit now and Goldhammer supposed to eat horse shit?!

Been hearing this a lot. I let 850 go about 2 years ago & it's been quite blissful since. I still read and pay attention quite a bit, but my blood doesn't boil unnecessarily.

The PFF page is interesting. I wish It made me believe he won’t struggle to consistently complete passes.
Why does that concern you? Not being a dick, actually wondering. Completing passes, not turning the ball over, and being accurate are all Baker's strengths.

I wish there was a clear cut number 1 QB this year but there wasn't. All of them had flaws. I feel like Baker Mayfield was the most proven QB of the bunch. I don't know if he was worth the number one pick but for once the Browns didn't pass up their guy for picks or to try to get him with a later pick.

If it was head to head between Darnold and Mayfield. I saw one pick a part the OSU defense and one get picked a part by the OSU defense.

Does anyone have stats for average time until throw and average time in the pocket for Mayfield and the other QBs in the first round?

He wasn't my number 1.

I wanted Darnold or Rosen.

He was actually my 4th.

But he's a Brown now and I want to see my team succeed. I want to -like- this guy. I want to see him turn this damn thing around.

We'll see. At least the Okies around here seem to love the guy.

It wasn't Allen. So I'm kinda happy. When I saw Rosen standing next to Darnold today I about crapped my paints. I couldn't believe how small he was shoulder to shoulder. I can see why teams were scared about his medical and getting hurt. Rolling out and completing a pass while getting hit puts a lot of pressure on the shoulder hitting the ground--aka Aaron Rogers.

I liked Darnold but I can live with Mayfield. Analytics love him and the old school football GM loves him so something has to be there.

Still think our GM is an idiot. I understand the Brown's just need to draft players that can play but the draft is also about value. Great teams get good players for the value they are worth--ex Baltimore Ravens. We overpaid for both our first 2 picks and could of gotten some 2nds or 3rds by moving around.
