I was surprised to learn that Kyrie broke old Cavalier Walt Wesley's single game scoring record for a game in Cleveland. I just assumed some of Lebrons high scoring games were in Cleveland, but I guess not.
For those of you that are not old timers, Walt Wesley was a tall lean center the Cavs acquired in the expansion draft from the Cincinnati Royals. (Now the Sacramento Kings).
On February 19, 1971, Walt scored his 50 against those Royals in the Cleveland Arena. He had 20 fg and 10-14 from the line. Remember, there was no 3-point line.
Royals had Tiny Archibald, Norm VanLier, and C Sam Lacey against Walt.
I looked it up and the attendance was 3,896. I also remember floor seats that year cost $6.00. It was a different world.
Anybody got any pictures or memories from that game?
