Fastlane Tonight - in Cleveland!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I really liked Payback until the main event. Cesaro-Sheamus was a great match, save for the fact that it ended with a freaking rollup. I understand they are trying to keep Cesaro and not put a secondary title on him....but there had to be a better way. Heck, a DQ would've been a better ending. But I loved the match until that point.

RVD-BNB was solid. Rhodes brothers match was decent. The Bo Dallas segment was funny. Cena-Bryatt was great, too. I know LOLCENAWINS gets annoying, but it was good match. Wyatt will have to start winning some matches clean, though.

I am in the minority, but I hated the main event. It was 25 minutes long with maybe 5 minutes of action. Evolution spent the whole time standing around. It was like a mediocre ending Raw segment that ended with an LOLSHIELDWINS. Other than it being the impetus for Batista to take time off for GOTG, I don't know what the point was. If HHH and Batista can't handle a match that isn't 50% rest spots, then they shouldn't be main eventing PPVs.

Agree on the Cesaro-Sheamus match. It was excellent up until the ending. Cesaro swings Sheamus (aka Cena Lite) around 21 times and then immediately gets rolled up and loses? Obviously they have bigger plans for Cesaro other than winning a secondary title he's already held once before, but that ending was just weak. The match was World Heavyweight Championship worthy if the belts weren't unified... instead this time it was for the US Title. That belt has gotten a huge boost lately from being defended once every 4 months with Ambrose, to now being a legitimate draw with Sheamus holding it.

If you think you're in the minority by not liking the main event... I must be the only person on Earth who thinks Roman Reigns is the most overrated superstar there is. Superman Punch and Spear. Wow, so impressive (sarcasm). And what the fuck was Batista wearing? He looked like he should be teaming with The Blue Meanie, not Evolution.

This is spot on. WWE is bringing up all these new guys, but they are the wrong ones. Neville, Sami Zayne, and The Ascension should be getting the nod over guys like Xavier Woods, Adam Rose, and Bo Dallas. Especially after watching them on NXT Takeover, and hearing that before Smackdown last week that Sami Zayne and Dolph Ziggler had a dark match that was "out of this world unreal".

Rusev is okay, but I also fear he is going to get the Ryback treatment as you mentioned. Squash matches until being too quickly thrust into the main event, and inevitably being used to make Cena look even stronger (if this is even possible) by beating him, and then back down to the midcard he goes... likely as a comedy act.

Adam Rose is why it's hard to defend being a WWE fan to people who dont watch. He looks like a gay anorexic Scott Hall sucking a lollipop, listening to him talk makes me cringe, and he hops around with a bunch of adult sized stuffed animals. Unless you're under the age of 10 there's not much to like about him.

Bo Dallas is obnoxious and just has a face you want to punch, but he's also funny at the same time. He really needs a new finisher though. A bulldog? How generic.

That's hilarious.

And yeah, you can't be part of the post 80s era of wrestling and win with a bulldog. You can really tell that he's Bray Wyatt's (Husky Harris') brother by the way they talk. Love the BO-ring chants. And there goes Kofi jobbing it up.

The Ascension is definitely fun to watch as well. It's kind of sad that the NXT Takeover card was more interesting on paper than Payback.

BO-ring and Bluetista made me laugh pretty hard.

That... was awesome.

That Rollins heel turn swerve saved what was one of the worst Raw's in recent memory. THAT is what makes wrestling fun to watch.

I'm not surprised The Shield broke up, but I am surprised it was Rollins who ended it. Lets face it.. after a clean sweep of Evolution, there wasn't anywhere for The Shield to go as a threesome but down from a meaningful feud standpoint. This should set the summer up nicely and freshen things up a bit. Wouldn't be surprised to see this lead up to HHH vs. Reigns and ... Ambrose vs. Rollins  at Summerslam.

Really hated that Ziggler lost that match to Del Rio. Who's wife did Dolph fuck to be in this position? Del Rio gets NO heat whatsoever. He's irrevelant. Ziggler has star potential and while not a favorite to win the MITB match... he definitely has a lot to offer it as one of the competitors. They need another top face to help fill the void for the next month anyway with Bryan out. Blows my mind.

They don't like the way Dolph spoke out against the company on twitter. Remember when HHH did the curtain call with the clique? He had to pay his dues again.

That's hilarious.

Who says you can't win a wrestling match with a bulldog?

Bulldog > Small package and yet your Irish Brawler cowardly used the small package.

You need to Bolieve. I love his gimmick, it's great and it's fresh. He's so over the top, it's hilarious.

I have a feeling they're going to be bringing someone else up to join the SHIELD.

Same. I thought that if there would have been a turn, it would have been Ambrose. Remember it was Rollins who played peacekeeper between Reigns and Ambrose (being the "loose cannon" or jealous of Reigns) earlier this year when WWE teased breaking up the Shield before WM.

I'm very interested to see if the Shield recruits another member or where we go from here. I'm high up on Rollins though. I hope he gets pushed and doesn't end up the whipping boy for Evolution.

Pointing this out because itll get lost in the amazing swerve; Luke Harper's promo was fucking phenominal.

Voice... I thought that the comments Dolph made about the company were back around last year's Summerslam? Are they seriously still punishing him for that?!... Or has there been anything more recently?

Bo Dallas has the same finisher Trish Status had, I believe. Not to mention he BO-tched it horribly last night against Kofi. I think his schtick is mildly funny, and nowhere near as painful to suffer thru than Adam Rose, Santino, Fandango, Hornswoggle/El Torito, etc. I do think Bo needs to BO-lieve in hitting the weight room and treadmill. Dude's a little pudgy. He honestly looks like a generic indy wrestler.

In the ring and on the mic: Luke Harper > Roman Reigns

Harper just doesn't have the "look" that Reigns does.

I cant wait to see the fallout of Rollins leaving The Shield for Evolution on Raw next week. Considering Rollins was the glue that held them together, it'll be interesting to see why he turned. All I know is Money in the Bank and Summerslam look a helluva lot more interesting now than they did 12 hours ago.

Roman is much more exciting than Harper, but Harper is probably top five in the company and probably the only big guy who can carry a match. Dude's elite. I'd pay so much to watch a few months of Wyatt v Harper.

I want the Shield to just rip apart. Ambrose always stuck out like a sore thumb in that group. I want him to go back to his fcw shtick.

Also, the dynamic got thrown completely off kilter because its 3 v 2 which means one of two things;

1. Hunter is the mouth piece until Dean Ambrose eventually splits and leaves Reigns alone to fight this battle.
2. They want Ambrose and Reigns to shine brighter than Rollins. Rollins basically gets the notice for the swerve, but he's going to fill the roll of whippin boy in this Summer of Fun.

Afraid that once this amaaazingly well done feud is over, Ambrose and Rollins will fade away and die.

I really hope you're wrong about the last two thoughts. The Shield were great as a stable, and also individually, each in their own unique way. I still hope/think there is enough limelight to go around that all 3 can achieve individual success in the future. As a team... there just wasnt anything left for them to do after the Evolution feud. They've held titles, battled the Wyatts, defeated many thrown together "super teams" that consisted of the WWE's top superstars, defeated one of the all-time great stables in Evolution twice, and even had matches with The Undertaker. Not much else you could really ask for during a 1 1/2 year run. You could say their split is bittersweet to say the least, but it was necessary.

I wanted the split before this Evolution thing ever happened.

Problem is, they like Reigns. They might like Rollins. But Ambrose is the
Most well rounded and he's in dire need of a new gimmick once this is over.

Issue: will rollins or ambrose be able to distance themselves from the shield mantra. Stable got too big and lasted too long, imo, for either of them to distance from association as a midcarder.

Joey Mercury was considered an honorary member in NXT by all three guys. Maybe they will bring him up...
