Round 1 Game 5 | Cavs vs. Pacers | April 25, 2018 | 7:00 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That was definitely a goal tend...

For those that disagreed with me, I will refer you to the NBA rulebook:

Section I-A Player Shall Not:
a. Touch the ball or the basket ring when the ball is using the basket ring as its lower base.
EXCEPTION: If a player near his own basket has his hand legally in contact with the ball, it is not a violation if his contact with the ball continues after the ball enters the cylinder, or if, in such action, he touches the basket.
b. Touch the ball when it is above the basket ring and within the imaginary cylinder.
c. For goaltending to occur, the ball, in the judgment of the official, must have a chance to score.
d. During a field goal attempt, touch a ball after it has touched any part of the backboard above ring level, whether the ball is considered on its upward or downward flight.
e. During a field goal attempt, touch a ball after it has touched the backboard below the ring level and while the ball is on its upward flight.
f. Trap the ball against the face of the backboard. (To be a trapped ball, three elements must exist simultaneously. The hand, the ball and the backboard must all occur at the same time. A batted ball against the backboard is not a trapped ball.)
g. Touch any live ball from within the playing area that is on its downward flight with an opportunity to touch the basket ring. This is considered to be a "field goal attempt" or trying for a goal.
h. Touch the ball at any time with a hand which is through the basket ring.
i. Vibrate the rim or backboard so as to cause the ball to make an unnatural bounce.
PENALTY: If the violation is at the opponent's basket, the offended team is awarded two points, if the attempt is from the two point zone and three points if it is from the three point zone. The crediting of the score and subsequent procedure is the same as if the awarded score has resulted from the ball having gone through the basket, except that the official shall hand the ball to a player of the team entitled to the throw-in. If the violation is at a team's own basket, no points can be scored and the ball is awarded to the offended team at the free throw line extended on either sideline. If there is a violation by both teams, play shall be resumed by a jump ball between any two opponents at the center circle.

That being said... fuck em. I’m glad the call went against them. They’ve been fucking murdering our players the entire series. I hope they’re on the receiving end of another twenty missed calls that go our way.

People aren't convinced it hit the backboard. I thought it was a goaltend during the game and I've come off that.

I thought for certain it hit the backboard. Every replay I’ve seen shows it hitting the backboard a fraction of a second before LeBron touches it. Unless he somehow was touching the ball before it hit glass or the refs determined it had no chance of going in anyways.

But like I said, what’s done is done. I’m definitely glad they didn’t call it. Hopefully that dagger gives the Cavs all the momentum they need to go on the road and close this thing out.

I've watched it a lot and can't decide.

The argument is that dipo is finger rolling it and the movement on the ball is from his shot, not the board

In any event, fuck the Pacers and fuck this series

the review shouldve been on thad young knocking the ball out of lebrons hands, and it went out of bounds on first bounce. Or the time when hood went straight up for the shot, and got called for an offensive foul, but you know.. 'gol tend' durp
Yep...I didn't notice it until after the game when I watched all the replays on the different networks.

Doesn’t help that there aren’t that many good angles and that they hardly showed replays of it afterwards, either.

But yeah, fuck this annoying team.

Holy shit, that final play happened so fast my mouth was wide open in sheer shock until he was interviewed on court. The game should have never came down to that but at least a win is a win and I just hope someone other than James steps up and they close this out Friday.

On an unrelated note, should I switch my nick to Dom? at this point I feel like Sir'Dom Pointer is a pipe dream. Dom seems like a better choice at this point until he ultimately decides to join and win us a ship.

Sir Big Dick Dominic

Sure, but not on OUR time.

Cavs need to move forward as if he had been transformed into a zombie. We can’t have a zombie getting major minutes at the 4/5. Start Green and Nance and bring Love off the bench. If he keeps bricking, send him back to the bench. He’s seriously hurting the team. He’s fallen into a bottomless pit.

@gourimoko, what do his advanced stats look like NOW?

Love has been a real disappointment. no scoring. Double digit rebounds ? Big Deal, thats not even 3 rebounds a quarter

And all i am pointing out is that if Kyle Korver is your second best player in the post-season you are in some deep shit.

have to agree. Love has really let the team down with his play
