Rumor: Rajon Rondo Wants to be Traded

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He never was an elite point guard.

He was a really good defender and rebounder, with a good passing game. He wasn't great though. You put him on a lottery team and not surrounded by vets and hall of famers, he's shit.

Never liked him and always thought he was a punk and a dirty player. I remember when he tried to injure other players and also pretty much tried to start a fight with Chris Paul. Kid's a bitch.

Aside from him being a bitch, he's a great point guard. He has insane court awareness and he has also added a jumper to his game. His downfall is his injury. He averaged over 9 assists when he came back this year, and 11 per game after the allstar break. If he were healthy, he'd be top 3 in assists every season, even with the trash roster the Celtics have.

He could have just been the Mario Chalmers of that championship Celtics team but he stood out and everyone noticed. I think most of you are discounting his skills because you don't like him as a person. That's understandable. Some people hate Kevin Garnett and don't think he's a HOFer, but he is... Objectively, Rondo is a top 10 point guard when healthy. But he's not healthy. And he's a dick.

top ten point guard is really good, it's not great.

KG was a piece of human shit too, no doubt he's a hall of famer though. Rondo, was good, not elite.

He's not taking his team to the playoffs without Pierce, KG, and Allen.

I would put at a minimum Paul, Westbrook, Kyrie, Curry, Parker, and Wall ahead of him. Hollinger had him at 29 last year

I don't understand how people can say that...like at all...

The season during which he got hurt, he put up averages of 14 ppg, 11 apg, 5.6 rpg, and 1.8 spg all the while shooting 48% from the field. His rebounds per game and assists per game would've had him #1 in those categories for his position and his steals per game would've had him top 3 for his position. You mean to tell me those aren't elite numbers? Furthermore, last season he put up nearly the same stats with a worse supporting cast and while coming back from a torn ACL (although his percentages suffered). Rondo was an elite guard pre-injury and he showed last season that he's still largely the same player he always has been...or at least he's capable of getting back to that level of play.

And also the fact that the Kings offered so much for Rondo is an indication that he's still viewed favorably amongst GMs. Isaiah Thomas, Ben McLemore, and 2 picks means that Rondo has a lot of trade value. Surely not the trade value that Kevin Love had, but still a lot of value nonetheless.

If the Celtics want to do the "quick" rebuild where they trade for a marque player and use that momentum to grab another player that they couldn't have gotten otherwise, they have to keep at least one good player on their roster in order to pull that off. That player would probably have to be Rondo.

But if they don't thing Rondo has the makeup or longevity to anchor a championship squad, then they may trade Rondo, & go for the long rebuild, where they wait for Smart to mature, and add more talent in the mean time.

I guess it all comes down to how highly they regard Rondo, and what kind of offers they get for him. Celtics have a lot of time to be patient.

I think everyone has been pretty sick of his antics, but they haven't foundca taker or at least the deal they're looking for. His name gas been in the trade rumors for years.

I feel like he's one of the reasons Allen had no problem skipping town.

He was the product of a good player on a great team with a great coach. He thinks he is worth more than that, Whatever team takes him in better be ready for his lack of shooting and not having three potential hall of fame players around him. I mean the Celtics made Perkins look good for gods sake.

Did you not see what he did last season after coming back from an ACL injury?

No I did not, Do not get me wrong he is a good could be great player. He may want to temper his attitude till he proves himself as a go to guy. I will say though I see no problem with him wanting out of Boston and I hope the team that gambles on him gets that player he can be. Just there is a lot of talk as he was a locker room issue. So unless he becomes the next Kobe I do not see how players will put up with him. This reminds me of Harden who got his shot looked great and could not lead a team. Can Rondo ball, hell yeah but can he lead a team as the "guy" we shall see.

His performance against the Heat in the 2012 playoffs was incredible. I don't think it should be in question that he's an elite guard. I would be worried if Chicago got him, I think he's better than Rose, but of course they are stuck with Rose (ha).

What if he was surrounded by Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, and LeBron James? Waiters, Haywood, and a 1st rounder? Maybe through in Tyler Zeller an- oh, wait, sorry, can't do that trade now.

Broken hand...door open now for Smart to be this year's MCW.

He apparently slipped in the shower
