Re: Sacramento Kings ROAD-TO-THE-PLAYOFFS watch!

I expect that pick to be flipped for something of more value.

Maybe to sweeten the pot in a trade..

That's begging for some photoshop work ...

Re: Sacramento Kings ROAD-TO-THE-PLAYOFFS watch!

The Kings could have the pick of anyone from our team, aside from Irving & Thompson, if they would be willing to remove the lottery protection from that pick. If they took Andy I'd want a future 2nd back from them though.

I don't see them making the playoffs & I don't think anyone from our team would make that big of a difference on their record.

I like your Andy trade scenario a 2nd round pick and removal of restrictions seems like a win/ win for both teams. Seems like it would be easier to get the restrictions removed on a existing pick than trying to aquire another unprotected pick outright from another team?

Agreed. I would love to change the title of this thread to Sacramento Kings ROAD-TO-THE-SUCK watch!

Re: Sacramento Kings ROAD-TO-THE-PLAYOFFS watch!

I don't know about that. The West is going to be much worse this year, cumulatively, than the East methinks. Let's have a look at last year's standings and this year's prognosis:

1) San Antonio: will be worse, no question, what with them another year older and a .744 win clip being totally unrealistic.
2) LA Lakers: again, a year older, probably doesn't win as many games.
3) Dallas: yet again, a year older, but still a deep and savvy team.
4) OKC: probably #1 in the West this year, a big improvement.
5) Denver: not making the playoffs this year.
6) Portland: probably not making this playoffs this year.
7) New Orleans: if CP3 bolts, not making the playoffs this year.
8) Memphis: finishes higher than 8th.

As for last year's lottery pickers, there's a lot to be discussed. But based on my rough estimates of this year's Western playoff lineup, it seems like 2 or 3 teams who picked in the lottery will reach the promised land. Will that be Sacto? Probably not, but it's not out of the question, either.

As much as I want the Kings in there, I think the Clippers will finally be on the rise and make the playoffs this year. Imagine if they had Irving.

That's what I'm thinking too. For example, Antawn + Sac 1st to Boston for LAC 1st and filler.

Baron + SAC 1st to Minny for Filler and Utah and Memphis 2012 1sts.

I'm just throwing out teams here. But Minny has two picks in the first this year. GET IT DONE Fer..... Er... GRANT!

Re: Sacramento Kings ROAD-TO-THE-PLAYOFFS watch!

CP3 moving to an East team would actually help the Cavs by hurting the Hornets. I see the West shaping out to be:

1) OKC
2) Dallas
3) LA Lakers
5) San Antonio
6) Memphis
7) LA Clippers
8) Sacramento Girl

Minny has Memphis' 2013 1st... and its lotto protected. The Utah pick they have is also lotto protected.

I would take Memphis' pick for our Sac pick, but I wouldnt give up any major assets to flip that pick. I would still hold on to Jamison & Sessions unless there was nothing better we could get.

Of course they're lottery protected. I misread the year on that Memphis pick.

Re: Sacramento Kings ROAD-TO-THE-PLAYOFFS watch!

According to a CBS column the schedule is going to be brutal for the Kings and goes on to bash the CAVS with no mercy so I will not post. I am starting to hate this pick more each day and would love to see it as trade bait or improved with a trade to the Kings. Otherwise we wait for next year with fingers crossed that the Kings are better next year and the year after that until 2017 when we get a 2nd rounder if those restrictions on it are met.

How was it bashing the Cavs. It says we are a bad team and our schedule does us no favors, two pretty much commonly accepted facts.

True but the way they said it with emphasis on one of the worst teams ever. Last time I looked there was a team that finished even worse than the CAVS and they do not rip into them at all. I like most of the articles/ reports on CBS but they did not need to call out my favorite team like that.
Maybe that reporter was a Timberwolves fan?

Here is the quote that pissed me off from Ben Golliver--- "Imagine you're the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers, coming off one of the worst seasons any NBA team has every played."

I believe that was true-so what-glad we have a tough schedule-easier to get AD

Re: Sacramento Kings ROAD-TO-THE-PLAYOFFS watch!

I would have shown some taste and said "struggling rebuilding team that came off a bad season". How hard is that?
