Remains to be seen if he'll be any better than Perkins was last year, but seems unlikely that he could be any worse. Since he was a Cavs draft pick, he saves them some money on the luxury tax compared to signing a min salary vet or undrafted free agent.

A pile of shit standing at 6-10 couldn't be any worse.

I don't see how anybody could think that this guy doesn't have more to offer than Perkins. Best of all is that he has Blatt's trust, which means larger rotations and quality non-garbage time.

Well it was the obvious thing to do but they are going all in this year. One year from the Big3 to acclimate and then cash in the rest of your assets and fill hole. Moz trade last year completed the basic framework and now this off season some final touches (Mo) and depth (Jefferson and Kaun).

I think Kaun will really struggle defensively despite what the scouting reports say, i just think the transition tot he nba athletes will be hard for him. Hes not the most agile laterally at the best of times. If he give the cavs minutes where he is better than perk (shouldnt be hard) then its a great depth signing. Hes basically only scoring of rolls to the bucket and he will get fouled a lot because hes a bad foul shooter. IIRC his shooting form is that of an 8-bit basketball game animation

I can't wait for the flurry of Russian/Soviet/WW2 puns that's coming this season. Enable drinking game.... profit!

Is calling him Borat too obscure of a reference?

That's gotta be on a T-Shirt this coming season. Get on it, Dan! Maybe he and Timo can team up on some more of those awesome commercials Timo did last season.

While i doubt he will crack the regular rotation if not for injury(knock on wood) but its a great thing to have another 6'11-7' Guy who is mobile a solid defender and pretty effeceint on offense(68-69FG%).. he is ok at the FT line as well. Just to have such a guy just in case is a great luxury.

He is not terrible from the line, 67% last year, and 7'0 and throw in a 32" respectable verticle for a center and 9'2 standing reach, and his rim protection should be ok,

He will frustrate us at times because a guy his size who is a poor rebounder is a sign of a soft player.

He is taking the place of Haywood and Perk, so that is upgrade right there. He'll be good for practice, give Blatt another player firmly in his corner and let us rest guys periodically. We have tons of good rebounders on the squad now, so at least he can always be paired with someone who can cover for him a bit.
