Seattle Seahawks @ Cleveland Browns (1:00PM - CBS)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Eh....his agent is in his ear and head. They don't want the wear and tear on his body without the cash. They're playing it safe, and it sucks for us the most. Some team will sign him to a fat paycheck based on last years performance. Even if he goes through this season as a malcontent. The next city will just assume they're going to get 100% since they paid up. It's how professional sports works these days.

The Browns are pretty much damned if you do, damned if you don't on this one. The Browns FO is playing it smart, but we're going to get little production out of him this year. In true Cleveland sports fashion he will probably sign somewhere else and put up big numbers again. I just don't see how we can pay him what he wants when the shelf-life on bruising NFL running-backs is so short.

In the mean-time, we're relying on a guy coming off a missed season and knee surgery. It's just an ugly situation all around.

I don't think thats true at all. Runningbacks come and go in this league. No team is going to pay him big money basesd on what he did last season. His value has been getting worse every week since the Colts game.

Hillis wants paid like a Top 10 or Top 8 back from what I've heard....

I'm not even sure if you add 10 and 8 together if he's the 18th best back in the league. I understand he takes on 5 guys and it's awesome and cool and what not, but he gets ripped a lot of times because of that. So it's the good with the bad. He might get you an extra 10 yards on a set of carries but he also might cough up the ball.

With as crappy as our line has been this year he hasn't been able to get much room to run either. He's kind of like how Jamal Lewis was for us, if he doesn't get 3-4 steps before contact he's going down at the LOS. If he gets those 3-4 steps unimpeded he can rip off some gains. Last year he was getting those steps, but again the short passing game and lack of a deep threat through the air gives defenses no reason to not stack 8 or more in the box. They can defend our crappy 5 yard pass patterns as well as our run game in the process.

I don't even really think that the line is that big of an issue in the Hillis thing, yes the loss of Steinbach hurts but we still had John "Come on Down" St. Clair at RT. It just seems like last year while by no means were we airing it out, it just seems like we took more chances down field or at least with intermediate routes.

Whatever the case, Hillis wants more than he's worth. He's getting to be a bit injury prone as he was dinged up last year, but such is the case when you run the way he runs. So that's another thing, this isn't like giving a shifty elusive guy money. It's giving a guy money that gets hit by like 5 guys every play. I understand people want us to throw gobs of money at Hillis but it's just not worth it. I'd love to resign him to a fair deal for both sides.

If not I hope we at least trade him because I think he could be invaluable to a team like the Patriots and really add a lot to that team. I just want some draft picks out of the deal.

Seahawks’ Bryant says Browns’ cheap shots got under his skin

Posted by Michael David Smith on October 25, 2011, 2:25 PM EDT

AP
In an otherwise forgettable 6-3 Browns victory on Sunday, Seahawks defensive lineman Red Bryant had a very memorable game.

And he’s blaming Browns tight end Alex Smith for the most memorable part.

Bryant blocked two Cleveland field goal attempts to help keep the Seahawks in a game when they easily could have been blown out. That was the good part of the game for Bryant.

But Bryant also had an incredibly costly penalty late in the game: After the Seahawks sacked Browns quarterback Colt McCoy on third down with about a minute to go, Bryant head-butted Browns tight end Alex Smith. That personal foul got Bryant ejected and gave the Browns an automatic first down, and all they had to do was kneel down twice to run out the clock.

So what in the world was going through Bryant’s mind when he committed that incredibly costly penalty? Bryant said Smith had been trash talking and cheap shotting all game, and Bryant finally snapped at the worst possible moment.

“He was talking the whole game,” said Bryant. “He was taking cheap shots at me. That’s what guys do when they can’t block you. He did a great job of getting in my head. I should have been smarter than that.”

Smith says he’s not sure what Bryant is referring to.

“I was confused by that,” Smith said. “Someone else said he called me a dirty player. I’ve never been called a dirty player in my seven years of playing football. I don’t know what he thought I did that was dirty but I always play right in between the whistles and that was that. There was a lot of jawing going back and forth but at the end of the day, my work was done when the whistle blows.”

Whether Smith did anything dirty or not, Bryant has to be smart enough to know that it’s often the retaliation that the officials see. The Seahawks learned that the hard way on Sunday.

Is there any question The Browns are the worst 3 win team in the NFL right now? Is there any question that we as fans will regret it during the draft?

Considering the schedule is about to get a lot more tough, I don't think we'll have anything to worry about on draft day, provided we don't start playing better.

What the fuck is Glee? And who's the annoying lady from it?

Jane Lynch is the awesome woman from Best In Show, Mighty Wind, Waiting for Guffman, Role Models, and 40 Year Old Virgin.

Fuck Glee and the rest of your generation's terrible ADD gaybo television.

I think I'd consider myself as a person in the generation you're speaking about. You are spot on about those shows, though. Terrible, ADD, gaybo pretty much nails it.

And Jane Lynch is pretty fucking funny.

With the exception of maybe the Rams game, I could honestly see us losing out. I hope it pans out that way. I know it's terrible to root against my team, but my god we really are terrible. I hope our defense keeps playing great and we land a high enough pick to make some serious offensive changes.
