[Second Round Matchup Thread] Cleveland vs. ???

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
can someone please tell me why in the world the NBA would start the Cavs/bulls on a saturday?

Shouldnt they wait for the rest of the series to end first?

Viewership for that series is going to be through the roof. A Saturday game would only boost that even higher.

From a Cavs centric perspective it hurts us from Love's standpoint but a Saturday start would be bonkers at the Q. That place will be insane.

Also, from an ECF standpoint, the sooner the better. Ideally the Cavs would somehow withstand the Bulls short handed and then get extra rest while the other series plays out.

Just bring in Marion and Miller as replacements for Love and JR. It's a risk but I would prefer to keep the same rotation schemes and prevent Tristan+Mozgov on the floor at the same time.

So if the Bulls win we'd start Saturday, but then if Atlanta goes 7, they won't end until Sunday, meaning they won't start until 3 days after the Cavs-Bulls. Won't the NBA wait to see how long the Atl series goes?

Without Love's spacing Lebron is probably gonna clank more jumpers. Last series he had to have shot less than 30% on jumpers. He was god awful. Bulls are gonna pack the paint so much minus Love and JR and just let Kyrie go off.

This is why we have to counter by using miller and JJ as floor spacers. If we can get a lineup of KI-Shump-MM-LBJ-Moz, we can counter most of what the Bulls do. Stuck shump on rose and LBJ on butler, KI in dunleavy and just chase him. If the Bulls don't go small, we run and gun them off the floor and space out. LBJ would have to be rebounding really really well and so will shump, but it would be a decent counter.

Edit: forgot we had Marion, using him to guard 3's and 4's will be crucial as well.

I love Blatt but he has been fairly reactive in terms of lineup changes, in order for us to win, he needs to be proactive and force the Bulls to adapt to him

Maybe but Miller and JJ are gonna get killed by the bulls on defense and on the boards.

I think we need to force rose and butler to make threes and just pack the paint. If we can just box out their bigs and work to not let them get inside position then we have a good chance, but easier said then done

No he won't, if you put him on Noah. The more I think about it, the more I'd consider starting James Jones and bring Tristan off the bench.

Jones will play the 4, he will guard Noah, who has been absolutely useless offensively. Noah is not healthy right now. He's not the same guy. He's been a non-threat. Sure, rebounds could be an issue, but he's not going to play 30 minutes. Tristan will still get the bulk of the minutes.

I say you roll with Jones starting, bring Tristan off the bench as usual. Perkins should see maybe 7 minutes. Give Mike Miller a chance, hope he has something to give us.

If we go with that, I think we could survive.

Hahaha at the thought of James Jones on Noah, did you guys get a good look at Jones yesterday and notice his putrid defense along with the inability to rebound. If we're counting on Jones then that's a death sentence.

So if Atlanta gets upset, we avoid Chicago right? Not saying that is happening, but at 2-1 worth considering.
