Shanahan/Loggains Gone

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Too many conflicting reports in the story lines today.

LaCanfora takes Shanny's bait is what happened.

So we know Loggains was a big supporter of Manziel. According to Mary Kay so was Shanahan? Now they are both gone.

But Kyle wanted to leave because he was told what to do by the front office. Did the front office want to play Hoyer and sit their 1st round QB? Shouldn't that be the other way around?

I'm confused.

Manziel has to be mentioned in every Browns article. Remember the 'LeBron's former team' headline? It seems to be just a continuation of that shit

God damned dysfunctional bullshit. Now the entire offense has to learn yet another offensive scheme. Jesus H Christ, that makes like 6 OC in 6 years??????? I'd love to punch Jimmy Haslam in the face right about now.

The problem with a lie is that you have to be consistent afterwards. Like I said a month ago, never forget that any professional sports franchise is primarily the billion dollar plaything of one eccentric rich dude who wants a say in what his franchise does.

I doubt the team wants/wanted either QB. They're just stuck with them.

I don't trust anyone in Cleveland's front office because they were all hired by a crook.

Allegedly

Worst franchise in football.

Buffalo has a longer playoff drought.

5 winning seasons since 1999 to Browns 2 and The same amount of playoff appearances.

Nowhere near as much negative publicity.

They suck for sure though.

Is there still a chance Haslam could go to jail?

*please say yes*

There is, technically. Pilot agreed to what is called a "criminal enforcement agreement", which comes with accepting the penalties and paying near $92 million. I'd put the chances at extremely low. Jimmy isn't accepting that big of a penalty without some assurance that he's safe.

@RedBlackAttack

Good thought though. One way or the other, he needs to go hands off immediately. And he won't...because he's 60 and that's who he is.

The NFL is investigating whether text messages were sent to the Cleveland Browns' sideline during games, league spokesman Michael Signora told ESPN.com Friday.

Texting would be a violation of the NFL's rules prohibiting electronic communication during games.

Signora did not elaborate except to say the league is looking into the matter.

Though it's not clear who sent the messages and who received them, a team source said the messages were subject of discussion among some players and coaches late in the season.

Cleveland.com originally reported the text messages were sent and said it was one issue in former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan leaving the team. He perceived it as interference from the front office regarding coaching decisions.

Though no texts have become public, the messages regarded personnel decisions and play calls, the source said.

The league's electronic devices rule states:

"Unless specifically permitted by league rules, the use of cellular phones, smartphones, tablet devices, computers, wearable electronic devices such as Google Glass, and other electronic equipment by coaches, players and other club personnel is prohibited in club-controlled areas including, but not limited to, sidelines and coaches' booths.

"These restrictions apply from ninety (90) minutes prior to kickoff through the end of the game, including halftime. Coaches, players, and other team personnel are permitted to use such electronic devices in the locker room prior to kickoff and are permitted to use league-issued Microsoft Surface tablets throughout game day for viewing coaches' still photos."

Unreal.

I sincerely hope this story gets blown all the way open. I want all of the dysfunction to be view-able, not just whispered about. That way, the Browns are forced to answer questions they seemingly don't feel like they have to. As a fan with pride, I need this fixed sooner rather than later; I'm not going anywhere.

Investigating texts might seem like a technicality, but its the closest the commissioner can get to disciplining the owner. When its all said and done, even the NFL disciplinary commission works for owners, and that includes Jimmy.
