Dude's so accurate though. What a waste of talent, if only the guy was 6'2". :chuckles:

I wouldn't know......I'm 6'4", maybe I should throw my name into the draft. Haven't thrown a football in years, but I am ideal size for a QB:rolleyes:

Right there with ya but I am slightly bigger at 6'5. The only problem is being a 32 yr old rookie. Also no pass on Russel Wilson. Can we please be interested in QBs that actually have the size to play the position? Is it wrong that we should want to get a guy like Ben or Flacco?

At least I'd only be a 31 yr. old rookie LOL.

And no it's not wrong to want a QB with size. We all want a QB to be able to stand in pocket and be able to read defenses while looking over the line, not rolling out. Russell Wilson is too short to warrant a high draft pick or even a mid-round pick just due to his size, if he was even 6'2", he'd be getting hyped up about possibly being a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Since he'd most likely be about 7" shorter than most lineman, it's gonna be difficult for him to correctly read defenses in the pocket.

I'd rather a OC build a offensive gameplan around the QB, not to hide him being too short to play the position. It's bad enough right now, Childress will have to hide Colt's weak arm and he's less than 6'2". Wilson does have a stronger arm than Colt, but his height concerns me.

This is why I think something will be done at the QB position. I just don't know what (possibly trade on draft day, possible drafting of one etc). I also think Childress looked at the roster and asked if we were doing anything at QB. With what you saw last year from Colt if someone asked you to be an offensive coordinator and your QB was Colt and/or Seneca would you really take the job or would you be pining for a replacement?

One of the main problems is lack of playmakers and such. The problem is no matter who we have at RB or WR isn't going to help any. On rushing downs teams will load up 8-9 in the box and dare us to throw the football and also rush enough to disrupt both rushing lanes and passing lanes. The problem is the hot route recognition isn't there. Secondly with the lanes clogged due to lack of a threat at QB a rb is going to have issues running against 9 men fronts all day long.

Then on passing downs the opposing team would either blitz heavily since we haven't shown the ability to beat the blitz. Or just sit back in coverage all day and bait McCoy into throwing a bad pass.

The 100 thousand dollar question is what do you do to win more games next year? The problem is sticking with what we have at QB isn't going to help. I will concede we need to get better playmakers but we are missing the biggest playmaker on offense.

If we don't upgrade that position we are in serious trouble.

I don't like Wilson because of his height. I don't like Weeden because of age and his torn labrum in his shoulder. I don't think Cousins is all that good.

I may be interested in kicking the tires to see if Kap is available from SF. Otherwise we may have to come out with an answer at 4 or 22.

I don't think we have good options at 4 or 22. #4 is too high for Tannehill and I think Miami will take him #8 overall leaving no chance he drops to #22. Miami has a heads up as his college coach in now OC in Miami.

At #22 our options are weak, meaning we may have to reach if we want one of the 2nd tier QBs. Which is why I believe at #22 we target A) Playmaker B)RT C) Tanny if he happens to drop that far. At #37, I feel the FO will reach a bit to grab a QB they are interested in. I don't like 2nd tier QBs unless you're looking for a viable backup or a starter in 4-5 years. This years 2nd tier crop is a little different it seems. They all seem to carry a starter grade and not necessarily in the 4-5 year range, looking more like a 2-3 year range. At #37, I think we target QBs like Cousins, Osweiler and an outside chance of Weeden. I feel Weeden only becomes a viable option if we grab his #1 WR target from college, Blackmon, which would help ease his transition to NFL.

If 4 is too high for Tannehill then how come it is not too high for the Dolphins to pick him at 8?

Of the QBs you mentioned IMO only Oswieler has a chance to be a pretty good starter (if he develops). Weeden has age and shoulder concerns, Cousins is a taller Colt (more like a Charlie Frye type player).

I would be fine going with Tannehill at 4, David Wilson at 22, Ruben Randle at 37, Massie at 68, then fill out the defense from there.

No, he was not even that impressive at the college level and is very undersized.

A 72% completion percentage is not impressive? Throwing 33 TDs and only 4 interceptions is not impressive?

we are talking about a Great quarterback, that we can get late in the draft, it will be dumb not to go for him, he is only 1" shorter than colt, if he does bad, there will be no harm.

Wilson measured 5'10-5/8". Colt measured 6'1-1/4". Wilson is 2-5/8" shorter than our already short QB.

Russell Wilson is just the same thing Troy Smith was. It's sad but true, both guys were GREAT college QB's and Troy even won the heisman while he was at OSU, but both guys are the same, it doesn't translate to the NFL.
