So long, Kay Felder

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lets get to Summer League

Don't really understand the pick considering we already have 6 guards on the roster (7 if you count Dahntay)

Don't get me wrong, seems like an explosive and exciting player, just don't know where he fits.

Seems like PG insurance, in the event Delly is offered too much money.

Cavs tried to buy the Pistons pick to take him, so they must really like Kay.

Will be interested to see who else we try to grab. There are a few nice wing prospects still out there for summer league invites.

It's a good pick when we clean house of old guys who don't contribute especially some of them want to test FA waters. Not gonna lie, I want the team to retain everyone but it makes no sense if some of them won't even see 30 minutes the whole year.

I'm not sure Dahntay is back next year. I'm not sure JJ doesn't retire. I'm not sure Kaun isn't jettisoned. We're going to have a few roster spots...as much as its going to suck, we aren't going to keep this exact 15 next year...

Will watch highlights later have to go to bed. I tape the draft just for the trades so shocked to me when I see online Cavs bought this guy.

Yeah the height thing doesn't bother the Cavs FO if the talent is really there. Quickness, vision, shooting, and vertical leap higher than VC? Yes please.

Felder and McRae are going to bring another title to Cleveland. We're going to win the Summer League. Hyped!

This kid is a beast. The only thing limiting him is height.

Come on Shoes....'the only thing'. It's the NBA.

When was the last time you saw a supposedly 5'9 player make a real impact (and he's not that height...).

The odds are near zero. The good thing is we gave up zero....and we need near zero at this point to repeat. I'm sure he kicks ass but no future in the NBA IMO.

From Joseph Billiot, who covers the Pelicans. This was in a pre draft writeup where he was talking about his Kay man crush:

Felder has the highest PER of ANY GUARD in this year's NBA draft. Felder's PER of 30.3 is higher than uber efficient players like Buddy Hield (29.6), Denzel Valentine (30.0), and number one point guard prospect, Kris Dunn (23.5).

I have made it no secret that I have an affinity for college guard's who put up high PER's. Historically, there is a nice correlation between robust prospect PER's and success at the next level.

Felder also whooped up on the competition during the NBA Combine scrimmages. He outplayed prospective 1st round draft pick Melo Trimble so badly that it was at least part of the reason Trimble decided to remove his name from the draft. Felder racked up 12 points, 4 assists and 4 steals in 24 minutes verses Trimble and company.
