Source: Johnny Damon close to signing with Indians.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He has that slicked-back greasy hair, the face of a beaver, and talks down to you whenever he can.

wow you are talking about someone elses looks Corey?

I think someone needs to buy this kid a thesaurus

I would release Sizemore and keep Damon.

The fact that Damon is allowed to get out of his contract once Grady is back.

Why wouldn't you want both?

Johnny isn't sticking around if Grady is playing. His contract makes it so he can leave and go to a contender once Grady comes back?

That is assuming Grady gets healthy... It will give him an oppurtinuity to show he can still play... Who knows he could end up sticking around and there is a no trade clause...

Exactly. I don't know why the Indians can't just part ways with Sizemore once and for all. The guy is an IR waiting to happen every time he steps on the field.

I rather have Damon. Better contact hitter and won't strikeout a thousand times a year. Damon is just better, even at 38.

No point cutting Grady now. They still have to pay him and he is on the 60-day DL so he isn't taking up a 40 man roster spot. If the Indians are out of it by mid June when he is able to come back then they should cut him and give younger players more playing time.

Give the young guys like Johnny Damon more playing time?

Just try and get Sizemore healthy, cross the Damon bridge when you get to it...

No....young guys like Zeke and Crowe will play after Damon leaves for a contender if the Indians aren't in a playoff race by June. What would be the point of playing Grady if we aren't in a playoff race? He won't be here next year.

Damon is a good pickup. Veteran experience along with a decent bat. I'll take that.

Hell, if Damon can hit a solid .275 and hit a dozen or so bombs and grab some steals, I'll be extremely happy.

This move makes great sense if Acta plays Shelley at 1B and leads off Damon. Mr Groundout of course moves to the bench so if were ever in a situation where their's a guy on 3rd with 1 out, we can count on Kotchman on nailing a grounder to 2nd to bring the run in.

We're now hoping Ezequiel Carrera and Trevor Crowe get some run now, only in Cleveland.

Damon only opts out if: he knows another team really wants him and b. There is no more playing time here. Thing is, even when Grady comes back, there will still be ABs. Duncan's biggest game was against a lefty; righties still own him. Kotchman is grounding his way out of a job. I could see a situation where 5amon can play 5 days a week between lf and dh.

Can Damon play 1st? I see he filled in for 12 innings in his career.
