Sources: Nets, Nuggets reach agreement; now it's up to Carmelo Anthony to say yes

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not sure the Cavs can get two #1 picks for taking on Murphy. Love it to happen and they should try but circumstances are a little different now from when Seattle/OKC used their TPE to acquire multiple #1's a few years ago.

Also wonder if the Cavs could turn around and trade Murphy to another team to acquire either another #1 or a young player. There is interest from a few teams in picking him up.

I think you probably have to do it even if you only get one #1. I want to get something out of the TPE and with quite of few of them around the league and a looming lockout that might be the best you can do right now. Of course it's not my money being spent on taking on Murphy's contract.

Teams only want him because they may get a #1 pick because of it. No one is going to take Murphy and give up a #1 pick to do it. The only way that would happen is if a team wants to get rid of a bad contract and just want an expiring, and are willing to throw in their #1 pick to get rid of said contract.

as long as billups doesnt go play for the heat i dont mind what happens. The last thing i want to see lebron kick the ball out for a corner 3 is mr big shot

I could see Billups returning to Denver or heading to LA.

Cleveland getting Murphy and a 1st rd pick isnt bad if we get involved in the deal...........does anybody know what years the Nets 5 1st rounders are?

All I want is for Cleveland to load up on assets..

I don't want to just GIVE Parker away because I feel bad about the dismantling of the Nets roster... Sorry. Throw in a second and you can get Weak Sauce. Hell it's "The Russian"

Grant "If you give us three 2nd rouns picks and cash considerations, we'll throw in Anthony Parker.. He's REALLY REALLY GOOD"
Russian "Yeah, I like Tony Parker, he had some good seasons on the Spurs.... He's great. Okay!"

Amazing you undervalue Melo, then overvalue Parker.

Getting a Nets 2nd rounder for Parker is giving him away? Nets 2nd rounder > Bulls 2nd rounder

I don't think the Nets are quite stupid enough to deal Parker for a 2nd round pick.

Also, to say the Nets are going to have no picks in the future is false. They're going to have no picks this year, but that's the only 1st that isn't another team's 1st (that they own the rights to) that's they're trading away. Doesn't mean they aren't overpaying a bit, but it's only 1 year that the Nets aren't going to have a pick.

You said throw Parker in for Murphy and the two 1sts.. I must have misunderstood what you meant. I didn't think you were asking for a 2nd for Parker. If so, then we're on eye level about Parker's value.

I am not a fan of Melo's game. I'd like a little more effort from him on the defensive side of the ball. I'm not a fan of his attitude. "No where BUT the Knicks.. What?!? They're not willing to send back the house to get me!? OMG they don't want me. This is bull crap (stomps feet). I want to play for the Knicks. Get a max contract under the current CBA..."
He is such a puss and with that^ mentality he is toxic and to me, not a franchise player. He may be a superstar based off of ego and self worth. But I don't want him and I wouldn't trade Favors, Harris, an expiring, and 4 first rounders for this whiny little bitch.

Plus, my Grant/ Prokorov back and forth was 100% toungue in cheek. Don't yell at me because you missed obvious sarcasm.

Edit- I reread your original post and I DID miss where you mentioned a Jersey 2nd for AP. MattyFos is okay with that.

Ahhh sorry, I meant the 2 firsts plus a 2nd rounder and Murphy for Parker and the TPE. Harris is not worth much, so you're not really trading much there and an expiring that's sitting on the bench (who cares?). The 4 first rounders that could very easily become 2nds and Lakers first rounder is really late. Favor's is a young prospect, but in order to get Melo seriously? I'd do it in a heartbeat if I were NJ's GM.

Billups attitude to me seems worse then Melo's. Wanting to be bought out even if he's traded with Melo.

They'd likely make the playoffs if they got Melo this year. Adding Parker would increase their chances for an upset.

Read my edit. All my fault.

You and MattyFos = Bros again.

I would like to say that they aren't that protected. Top 7 for Golden State for 3 years.. That may turn into the two 2nds.. But we may get lucky. The Houston is top 14 protected until 2016.. With the power shifting East, Houston has a chance of getting a 3-7 seed which wouldnt be a top 14 selection. It'd be nice to have a 15-20 pick in 2012 or 2013

Remember Bros before hoes except for at St. Joes.

To be honest, I'd rather roll the dice on the Golden State pick. Top 7 for 2 years then 6 for one year. That I don't think will turn into 2 2nds. I'd rather stay away from Houston's pick.

1. Spurs
2. Lakers
3. Thunder
4. Dallas

After that it becomes a crap shoot after Williams leaves Utah and Paul leaves New Orleans. Unless the franchise tag comes into effect.

He moved to B'more when he was 8. He's from Brooklyn born in the Red Hook Projects.

In other words ... he grew up in Baltimore. How much do you remember about your life before the age of 8?

When they asked him if he ever considered playing for the Wizards, he said it's fun to come to town once a year, but doesn't think he could handle playing in front of all his friends and family constantly (they all drive down en mass *FROM BALTIMORE* to see him when he's in DC).

Melo associates Brooklyn as his home as well as Baltimore, that's all that really matters and if I'm not mistaken his wife is from Brooklyn too, so it's a family decision as well.

La La Vasquez, his wife, is from Brooklyn. This could influence his decision as she may have family and friends there.

If Anthony throws away any chance of winning to just appease his wife, then he's a little bitch. I can't believe Carmelo would leave Denver (who is decent) to play for a team that would peak at 44 wins in the East sometime in the next 5 years. If Billups refuses and wants a buyout, who is the PG, SG, and PF for the Nets? Who could the Nets steal with the MLE (if there is one in the next CBA) when they have to compete with the KNICKS, HEAT, and LAKERS for any decent free agents?
