Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser #2

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Ewoks unfortunately taint what was otherwise a very strong movie (speeder bikes, "It's a trap", Vader turning on the Dark Side). Imaging the difficulty in trying to come up with a film that just happened to complete a trilogy of not only a cultural benchmark that is A New Hope but a sequel that is universally acknowledged as one of the best ever.

The Ewoks gave us this:

Show a little appreciation, sir.

I touched on this a bit in the general movie thread, but watching Age of Ultron yesterday totally reinforced my excitement for this movie. I'm so ready for a different kind of blockbuster, and what's even more hilarious is that we haven't even gotten into the crazy stretch of the next few years when DC is putting out stuff too. Maybe those will freshen that scene up a bit, but either way give me some damn Star Wars.

I personally liked The Empire Strikes Back better, but....

Frankly, the thing about the Ewoks is that it made me embarrassed to have watched the whole damn trilogy. What a fucking letdown. It turned a fairly cool space opera into a kiddie show, and I really hated that. Especially since I saw it when it came out, and experienced the entire gay as hell teddy bear dance in all its widescreen agony.

Why the fuck didn't he just make them wookies....

I tend to agree Empire is the best of the series; but I know quite a few people who also think ROTJ is the best as I think maybe @Pioneer10 is suggesting..

I do agree though, using Wookies would've been better, but fuck all that noise would've been brutal.

All in all though, I think it honestly just depends on if you can get past Ewoks and if you prefer the conclusion of a story or it's climatic twist. Empire is a cliff-hanger, ROTJ ties up all the loose ends neatly. I have no problem with someone liking one over the other.

And btw, when I was a very young child (remember this movie came out in 1983!), I liked the Ewoks; which is exactly why Lucas put them in the movie..

Later in life, I can understand, but even when I showed my daughter ROTJ when she was 5, she liked the Ewoks too but hates them now.

..yub nub tho bro..

Either way, reminds me of this...

Just got my second Golden Penis...

Indeed..

Strong in the Force am I.

Ugh, I think I have to buy both entire trilogies again. I can't find any of the Star Wars DVDs I used to have after I moved. It may be $80ish but I think it will be money well spent.

Probably a dumb question but can I play Blue-Rays on my Ps4?

:chuckle:

Yeah.. that's kind of the point of the PS3/PS4.. ;)

But, I hear the PS3 is actually the better blu-ray player overall, but I don't know if that is still the case with the latest firmware releases for the PS4.

Also, looks like I got the last blue-ray set on Amazon. Now it says out of stock.
