Stein: Kevin Martin to Rockets / T-Mac to Knicks

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wow, the Knicks are completely fucked for years to come. Great job Rockets!

I like how people consider Donnie Walsh to be a fantastic GM.

He just traded away draft picks for years jsut at the minisule chance that Lebron wil come to town. LMFAO Kevin Martin would have really helped the Knicks in completing their "goal" of getting LeBron. Of course it is my theory that the Knicks just want to stop paying so much money for a rebuilding team, and that they are just selling the "we are getting LeBron" thing to the fans so that the fans don't lose interest in the team. But hey that's just me.

I love Morey, one of the biggest stat-heads in the game. If it was the Hou-Sac straight up deal it'd be bad...but damn, he crushed this trade.

edit: LOL NYK

Latest: A source told ESPN.com that the Knicks pick in 2011 is Top 5 protected. In 2012 the Knicks pick is only Top 1 protected

TOP 1 protected :chuckles:

I'm sure LeBron can't wait to join a team that doesn't even control their own draft pick until 2013.

LOL @ the Knicks

Houston made out like bandits in this deal. They get Martin, a first rounder, the rights to swap a first rounder with New York, and Hill (New York's first rounder in last year's draft). What a bunch of morons.

What was Sacramento's point in adding the Knicks to this? Doesn't make sense at all for them now. So instead of Landry, Dorsey and T-Mac's 23-plus million expiring contract they now are getting Landry, Doresy and Hughes' 14 million expirings.

If I'm Sacramento's Geoff Petrie, I'm demanding that if the Knicks get involved in the trade one of those trades comes our way.

Wow rockets look good in that deal...Im also glad for t-mac...He gets to show everyone he can play on a big-stage

And I thought Danny Ferry knew how to trape.....

Daryl Morey got over like a fat rat.

Yeah, he did something Danny hasn't even done yet ... trade one guy to two different teams. How player is that?

Don't forget houston is also getting Hilton Armstrong

New York Knicks fans actually think they are making a great deal... They act like Lebron and Bosh or Amare are already theirs... So frustrating, you cannot reason with these dimwits...

Rockets are out rapping NY !

- Jordan Hill

*Knicks Swap Picks in 2011 (Top 5 protected)
*Knicks pick in 2012 (Top 1 protected)

I like the deal for sac. In fact I liked it better when the knicks weren't involved. That way new york didnt get cap space.... Either way Kevin Martin isnt that great. All he does effectively is score, and hes hurt way too often. Hes only been relevant for 4 years. Three of those years he has missed significant time due to injury.

I don't really like jordan hill either to be honest. He reminds me a lot of mikki moore. The picks they got from new york, well honestly who knows how they will be. Landy was a pretty vital member to Houston, so we will see how it goes.

I think Sacramento got the better end of the deal. Martin just wasn't working out like I thought it could with Tyreke. The kings really needed a third big man, and they got a really nice one in Landry.

By the way..

Knicks beat writer seems to have similar numbers to mine..putting the Knicks at about 32 million dollars under the cap...

They will need 35 million dollars to sign two max free agents.

So like I've been saying for a few days, all they did was get room to keep David Lee :chuckles:

Chad Ford has the same calculations, but I assume he still thinks two max f.a.'s are possible

If cap comes in at $53 mil, around $31 to 32 million in space RT @DrWhiskey694 exactly how much cap room does that give the knicks now

Nah he'll just say Lebron would probably accept the veteran's minimum for a chance to play for the Knicks.
