Fastlane Tonight - in Cleveland!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

They finally fucking did it....Bryan is in the title match at WM with a win vs HHH.

8 months later, they are gonna get it right.

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

So, with the emergence of the Network, I think me and a bunch of my friends are going to watch Wrestlemania together. I was thinking of putting together a prop bet sheet since those are usually pretty enjoyable for the Super Bowl.

Any ideas on what I should put on there besides the match-by-match results?

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

I dont know if it would work with your prop bet sheet... but you could have some fun betting on the 30 man battle royal match.

Either drawing random numbers 1-30 or having a superstars draft of sorts.

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Longest entrance theme. I'd bet HHH.

Who DB Bryan pins in the main event. Let people pick Orton or Batista and all the winners split the money. I say Batista.

Which match destroys the Spanish announce table. I say Kane/Show.

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Spanish announce table is a good bet.

How about longest match?

Match most likely to be the quick 1 minute or less match

How many celebrities they show

How many times Michael Cole says "vintage"

I'm sure I'll think of more

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

The over/under how many times the phrase "Oh My God" is said. If JR was still around I would totally bang the over!

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Can't believe none of us said the most obvious one:

With Hulk Hogan being guest host:

How many times he says "brother"

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Seems like every 10th anniversary WM is getting worse. This card looks awful and bc the lack of compelling characters, no way to build it up.

Side note: Its pretty clear Sting will work w wwe. Its been too quiet for weeks.

:dunno:

I was actually thinking that this card looks really good especially now that Bryan can win his way into the title match. So far I'm looking forward to every match on the card. Give me something with the Shield, another match with Cody and Goldust, and call it a day.

He'll pin Orton so that Batista can say he didn't really lose and got screwed because of HHH letting Bryan into the match so that Bryan and Batista can feud over the title after Mania.

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Sting recently did an interview in England saying he wants Taker at mania.

I was thinking the opposite. He pins Batista and Orton will say he never really should have lost the title because he never lost to Bryan. Another scenario I was thinking is he pins one of them and HHH/Steph comes out pissed saying the match is now elimination style.

That would be great booking

Agreed.

I think WWE really wants Batista as a face to coincide with the release of GotG. They first tried this by having him feud with the top hell. That obviously backfired. No he was getting so much heat they had to have him as a heel until Mania. After he gets pinned, he can have a Raw segment where he congratulates DB for being "the better" man, then go onto a feud with someone like Kane or Swagger or whoever is heel from the Shield split (Ambrose). GotG opens in between Battleground and Summerslam. Have a nice midcard feud for Battleground, then move onto a bigger feud (Orton? Wyatt? Lesnar?) for Summerslam.

It wasn't about him being a heel or face, it was about him getting a shot at the title as soon as he comes back after 3 years. There's only a few people in WWE who could have gotten away with this. 1. Rock 2. Austin 3. Hogan (back in the day- not anymore) and anyone else is pushing it.

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

With under 2 weeks to go and looking at the Wrestlemania card... on paper it looks solid. Four main event quality matches, a 30 man battle royal, Shield vs. Kane and NAO is a nice mix of future vs the past, and the first time the Diva's Title will be defended at a WM. I have to say though the build (minus HHH-Bryan and Wyatt-Cena) has been beyond underwhelming. I'm glad I ordered the WWE Network over 6 months as opposed to shelling out $60 just for the PPV itself.

Undertaker vs Lesnar has been booked poorly. We all know Undertaker is going to win, so why are they not making Lesnar look strong going into the match?! These two have only been under the same roof twice and both times Undertaker has gotten the upper hand. The whole storyline is based on beating the streak. Which fine, at this point that's mainly the draw of Undertaker wrestling at Mania. However, these two have a real life out of ring history and past matches from 2003 they could've incorporated into the storyline to make it more meaningful. CM Punk-Taker last year had far better story telling. Although, Paul Bearer's death played a role in that.

Batista and Orton have both been made to look like complete doofuses. Especially Batista. He is so awkward and cringe worthy both on the mic and in the ring. Orton I realllllyyyyy wanted to like as a heel champion, but he has been a complete flop since day one.

The 30 man battle royal is cool in some ways. It has some tradition to Wrestlemania and gets a large number of people involved. The downside is the Raw and Smackdown booking is lazy because of it and guys like Big Show, Mark Henry, Del Rio, Ziggler, Sheamus, Chrisitan, Miz, Big E, Rhodes Bros, etc. are all being underutilized.

The mid card belts are irrelevant and wont be defended it appears. No shock there.

Tag titles look to be defended between The Usos vs. Real Americans vs. RybAxel. Real Americans just appeared to split up and then *poof* they're on solid ground again. I cant remember the last time RybAxel has won a match and 2 weeks before WM are losing to the Los Matadores, yet somehow are involved in a title match over the Rhodes Bros who were the only good thing going for WWE in late 2013?!?! Creative is so hilariously bad sometimes.

As much as I wanted to see a Triple Threat match with The Shield... I'm actually glad they are staying together and getting a babyface run. They are still entertaining to me as a trio and even though the build is rushed and somewhat weak... I think a program against The Authority (Kane & New Age Outlaws) is actually a decent idea. Although one could argue that The Shield deserved something better after a year and a half of dominance then facing some guys from the attitude era.

Sorry for the mostly negative rant, but it's just a little disappointing that the biggest Wrestlemania ever seems to be tossed together so poorly. Thoughts?!
