Re: Tankapalooza 2012-2013 Edition!

Things just got more challenging in the race to the bottom. The Suns look like they've given up pretending not that they've canned Gentry and are going to see if the Least of the East have what it takes to stay below the Worst of the West.

Really hope we attempt to get better at the deadline.

Re: Tankapalooza 2012-2013 Edition!

Well, tonight was a big step forward for the tank tonight. Washington and Charlotte both won tonight. That makes our job a little bit easier. Let's hope that we can pull out a loss against Utah tomorrow. It's unfortunate that they're in the race for making the playoffs like the Lakers are, but our tank is more important than making sure that the Lakers don't.

Re: Tankapalooza 2012-2013 Edition!

It is tankapalooza, but the cavs very well can make the play offs next season with another high draft pick and some solid free agent signings. we have a 5 man core of irving, waiters, gee, thompson, varejao. add another 2 or 3 guys, and this is a play off team which could happen next season.

Tank is near dead. Wow.

Re: Tankapalooza 2012-2013 Edition!

Cavs get an awesome win and their third in a row. Bobcats picked up a win over Minnesota (helping both our pick and the Lakers). I'll be greedy and root for everything - Cavs wins, Cavs pick near the top of the lottery, Lakers 15th pick. :chuckles:

Washington also picked up an impressive win over the bulls too so as bad as the takers may feel we managed to keep pace more then anything else. I don't mind wins from out younger guys like tonight, I hope to see more wins from them if they are anything like tonight.

Re: Tankapalooza 2012-2013 Edition!

Apparently I've been slacking with my tank driving. I'll be putting in some long hours tonight upgrading the tank. :chuckles:

Seriously though, I hope to see a Ramon-Sessions-esque trade soon enough involving Speights so that we can get back to tanking because we've worked too hard this season to only come out of the draft with Otto Fucking Porter. It's either Nerlens Noel or bust. We've all seen how much we have to give up in order to move up in the draft. Why do that when we can just automatically have those picks without having to give up assets? In addition to that fact, we can get more long-term assets by moving guys like Speights and Ellington who are replaceable and could very well be gone after this season anyway. We need to keep on track here with our long-term goals and not lose sight because winning feels good right now.

Re: Tankapalooza 2012-2013 Edition!

This is really, truly tank-threatening...not only did we instantly get a lot better with the trade, our schedule gets a lot easier than it has been.

I just did some really high level, important type mathematical analysis. If every other team goes at their current winning pace in the East, the Cavs will make the playoffs if they win 70% of their remaining games. I think that's before tonight's win, too.
