The 2015 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not a bad lineup. 3-6 is pretty solid. It would be nice to see Kipnis regain his form.
We need Kipnis to regain his form, because I think it's unrealistic to expect Brantley to repeat his performance from last year. Kipnis needs to get back to what he use to be to off-set some of that.

Wolters is probably the biggest surprise on that list for me, I can't see how he'd stick anywhere else. But he's still a versatile utility type worth adding.
Keep hearing he is geting rave reviews for his work behnd the plate. He threw out 47% of would-be base stealers in his 2nd full year as a catcher. If the bat returns to the form he showed in Carolina, that is an useful catcher.

Are we expected to break camp with Santana as the backup catcher?

I can't see anyway Roberto Perez isn't on the opening day roster. With Giambi gone we finally don't carry a position-less player, not to mention we need as many RH bats as possible.

With Moss being added, the Indians will need to make a corresponding move to add him to the 40-man.

Anyone's guess how the lineup plays out with the 2, 6-8 spots but I'm guessing it looks something like:

CF - Bourn (L)
SS - Ramirez (S)
LF - Brantley (L)
1B - Santana (S)
RF - Moss (L)
C - Gomes
2B - Kipnis
DH - Swisher (S)
3B - Chisenhall (L)
When should we be expecting Lindor?

Didn't Swisher throw out his shoulder and have his power sapped from trying to play RF? Not a fan of this idea.

I'm not a fan of most ideas that involve Nick Swisher playing, but what can you do?

Really interested to see what Swishers numbers look like if he is finally healthy for more than two weeks at a time. Not expected much but Jesus he has to his better than 200 right?

Updated the OP with projections, lineups, etc with Moss addition.

I still think there's a chance Swisher rebounds this year. Dude had a 3.8 WAR in '13.

I realize he's getting up there in age and double knee surgery isn't the best sign - but I think there's a decent chance he's mildly productive for the Tribe next year.

I think DHing Swisher as much as possible is the best way to stagnate is decline. He may not like it, but he needs to rest his body. Limiting his work to batting four times a game should do that quite nicely, and then he can still play 1B or RF in reserve roles.
