The 2016 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Remember, we're not just monitoring a Browns tank, we've got two other tanks to keep close eye on.

#TitanTank
#EaglesImplosion

If the Titans end up top 4 awful, we'd have 4 picks in the top 36.

In the ideal situation, Browns, Eagles, and Titans are three of the worst 5 teams this year.

This is exactly why I'm mad at stark for starting Duke today

This was one of two games all year where we own both picks and winning helps another pick

This was one of the few games we could win without fucking up the tank

but the Browns losing on opening day is as consistent as they come

It's not if you drafted Wentz it would be Super Bowl talk --but there would be a lot more intrigue and potential hope... You really don't have any idea who your QB of the future is as of today ??

Even if Wentz would have done nothing close to what he did against the Browns today for the Browns-- wouldn't matter....But I would feel a lot better as a Browns fan with a young rookie QB drafted in the top 5 as opposed to an RG3.

At the point it's about the future and hope... I really have none in Robert...

Id rather know my QBOTF is in college right now, rather than trying to be excited about what Wentz did or did not do today.

I have none with this team regardless of who's under center.

17 fucking years of this garbage.

Even if they do tank and end up with the first or second pick half the people here are going to want them to trade down and use their pick on a fucking nose tackle or something.

Literally no one on here has ever advocated for that

Naw

But other Browns fans in the past have, and I've seen it pop up. I'll give this regime a pass on it, but if they're picking this high? No excuse will be given.

They can either draft an elite young playmaker or play against him on Sunday. Their choice. I just won't give them a pass on it.

Every fan base will have some nutty folks, but the much, much more common feeling from Browns fans I know is the frustration of always trading down from the blue chip prospect range.

Browns fans STILL talk about Julio jones/Phil Taylor

Clay II was sitting there for the taking in 09.

And we didn't draft him. Unreal.

Can we stop this crybaby fest about not taking the best players from every draft class over the last decade.

Uncle.

I think the level of stupidity in some of these trade downs would be akin to if the Cavs would have drafted Derrick Williams and Brandon Knight in 2011.

I remember people seriously discussing that on here and other websites. Then I remember one person who just kept stressing Irving s the pick. THANK CHRIST that was who they went with.

That's the level of awful we're talking about.

If they pass on Leonard Fournette twice with their two 1st round picks, which will likely be top 10(their own pick being top 3, Eagles could win 5 games), I'll flip.

That dude is going to be a stud back next year in the NFL, and if you have him in the back field and Josh Gordon stays clean and he's here next season, Coleman turns out to be who we believe he will be, and Terrelle Pryor finds some consistency.. This offense can be something to watch.

Of course, you'd need to see what RG3 has, but that's why we are in a tank season trying to see if RG3 has anything left. If not, you didn't waste a season because you were already going to lose this season anyway.

If somehow RG3 shows he can be the guy, and the receivers look good and promising and you land Fournette.. The offense becomes deadly.

Defense still needs a ton of work, though. It's going to be either dead last or 2nd to last this year. This rebuild will take 3 years at least before we start to see some significant progress.

But I'm OK with it. Just let Hue and these guys work. Don't jump the gun. You won't find another coach like Hue Jackson out there willing to take this job opportunity if the window is 1 or 2 years. It just won't happen.

Yeah it's definitely been the trade downs which have prevented success for the organization.
