Dream Team 4: Golden State Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
bothered him last year. steph looks better. he'll probably torch him on christmas

It will make the game even more compelling. i bet when delly checks in the W's run option after option for curry and he tries to go video game on him. Might play to our advantage if he goes cold though

Watching the W/L records out west reminds me of 08-09 when the Cavs were like 22-4 or something while the Celtics were like 22-2. All the hype went to the defending champion Celtics, but the Cavs finished with the best record. They didn't get to play though because Boston had a million injuries and lost to Orlando in 7.

I haven't watched enough of San Antonio to call them favored to beat Golden State in a series, but Kawhi Leonard is simply better than Draymond Green. Danny Green is defensively capable of guarding a guy like Klay, and still needs to be covered religiously on the other side.

Parker won't let Curry only play on one side of the court, and Aldridge/Duncan can't be ignored.

That series goes 7.

It gets scarier when you realize Ezeli is on his way to become a very good C, good at protecting the rim and with decent offensive moves, even being able to hit some jumphots. Just an all around good C.

And Barnes is clearly developing.

Their 1-5 is all young with Curry - Klay - Barnes - Green - Ezeli. If they are able to retain those guys, they can worry about building depth around Iguodala, Bogut and Livingston, guys who make a very good bench.

They are in a spectacular position to build a dynasty there for at least 5 more years. It's very impressive.

At this point, everything must go nearly perfectly for Cavs, Spurs and maybe OKC, so they can actually compete with the Warriors in a 7 game series. They are just much better than last year.

I disagree with Ezeli being a difference maker against other elite teams.

As soon as Golden State plays a legitimate center, the Spurs and Cavs have a better 5 man unit on the floor, IMO.

That obviously assumes Mozgov is healthy and mentally right, but you get the point. Both he and Duncan are superior players whose teams benefit from them being on the floor more than GS benefits from Ezeli.

I disagree with Ezeli being a difference maker against other elite teams.

He is a better back-up center than I can think of for most teams. Bogut will be on the floor if Moz is playing, so he isn't even going to see much time against the Duncans and Moz's of the world.

Damn I don't know what to make of Bogut.

Dude toiled away on those Bucks 1 round teams forever as #1 pick dispoint before suffering some pretty gruesome injuries and getting traded in a dump.

OTOH, he's a fucking douche in many ways including on the court.

And then we've got Speights and a million other young dudes that we passed on drafting smh.

Crazy, this league is.

it's the same story as it's always been with bogut - when healthy he's a great defensive anchor at center but he needs talent surrounding him for the team to truly excel. he's always been an elite defensive center with a servicable but not great offensive game. problem was those bucks teams were always so epically bad aside from him.

it's a similar story with speights. he's fine as a fourth big playing ~10mpg but you get in to trouble trying to really rely on him for significant production for closer to 20mpg.

same with iggy. it's trouble if you try to have him lead a team, but if you allow him to focus on the defensive end & all the nitty gritty/intangible stuff he'll be tremendously valuable. he is probably gsw's third most valuable player behind steph and draymond. dude won't put up flashy scoring numbers but he just flat out makes the team significantly better on both ends of the court. and the #s back it up.

that's why golden state is so dangerous. the pieces all fit perfectly and they are legitimately 11 or 12 deep because everyone is put in the best position for them to succeed.

Tonight is the night I think.

They're short handed, and Steph has been very pedestrian.

Boston looking like they are going to pull this off.

Again, attacking Curry and making him play D is the key.
They stuck 4 fouls on him, and he had to sit a lot, allowing the Celtics to make a run.

As much as I want this Warriors streak to come to an end... fuck Boston.

he wouldn't be playing D if Klay was playing

they'd hide him on avery and he'd let avery shoot every time

Kyrie is gonna make Curry his bitch on Xmas.

A lot of Curry being Curry is him never being on an island and his team making up for his weaknesses. When you guard Kyrie you can't hide on D. You have to guard him or your team will sacrifice attention to save your ass.

And just in case people have forgotten because he hasn't played in forever. No one can guard Kyrie

Oh man, even though I'm rooting for the Celtics, their play by play is god awful.
