The Andre Drummond Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sure, it was a waste of time, but I considered it a 'unique programming challenge' more than anything :chuckles:

I agree, the numbers are skewed because of quotes, but my logic was that a reply to a post that referenced a person more than likely dealt with the same topic. In any case, here's the person by person breakdown. Again, this is the percentage of posts which referenced Dion or Grant compared to their total number of posts referencing Dion, Grant, or Drummond:

I try to ignore this thread but it's always the latest thread posted in and shows up on Around the NBA...

I'm very curious as to how you are querying the site to get this data.

I'm using a script to cycle through all of the search result pages for a given set of search parameters, then screen scraping the 'posted by' user name from each of the pages using a regular expression. Definitely not very elegant, but it works and I had fun doing it :)

Well. You know what they about solving a problem with regular expressions... Now you have two problems. :chuckles:

Congratulations to the Pistons.

Very solid pick.

Drummond had 18 boards tonight :jerkoff: When was the last time Dion Waiters and Chris Grant even combined for that many? Idiots.

The counterarguments with this in this game from some will be this

he has a -2 in +/-
he fouled out
shot 2/6 from the line. :D

The fact that you can grab 18 rebounds and score 10 points in 23 minutes is impressive, isn't it?

It's like if the ball is within a couple feet of him, it's over. But of course, some people will say rebounding and finishing are not really important skill sets for big nowadays. It's all about the hustle.

By all means, very impressive. I'm a big fan of Drummond. I was just messing around. Didn't see the game but that's a pretty impressive stat line. I wonder if he will ever become a better FT shooter

Spoelstra said Drummond is one of the three most improved players in the NBA — alongside the Indiana Pacers’ Paul George and the Phoenix Suns’ Eric Bledsoe.

Spoelstra noted before the Pistons defeated the Heat, 107-97, on Tuesday night how young players can make huge leaps.

“That’s what you see with young players sometimes,” Spoelstra said. “They come back one year and they look different … and he is making dramatic strides in his improvement.

“Now, I think he is getting better rhythm and more offense. He’s a load in the paint, and somebody that size, you don’t see often that kind of athletic ability.”

Spoelstra is sounding like a bit of a Drummond fan boy as well, particularly with the comment about him being 1 of the 3 most improved players in the league along with George and Bledsoe.

Nope.

Do you hear people saying that when you're asleep?

Yeah I was pretty impressed when Stromile Swift and Ronnie Turiaf did it.

How many times did Stromile Swift and Ronnie Turiaf put up 31 and 19?
