The Brian Hoyer thread...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm a dad now. This is what happens. What is it about having a child that makes even the most putrid jokes completely irresistible?

Been walking around naked in front of family for good luck whenever Hoyer takes the field and calling my son "pal" too.

He played like rubbish for most of the game yesterday. He threw some of the worst passes i've seen since we got him. Nice to see him pull it together for the last drive.

Hopefully another week working with Gordon will help their chemistry...maybe we can even get Cameron back to. Having those two will take some of the pressure off.

Really looking forward to Sunday. But, if he's missing wide open receivers and throwing picks, i'd be willing to give Connor Shaw a look.

The only difference between you and Jerry Sandusky is a lot of money... And sodomy... :chuckle:

-5.5 from PFF. OL +4.9, WR +2.6.

Def +8.2

His Houston game was updated to a -7.6, but they just have an anti-Hoyer agenda. Just dumb fans rating players and they're probably huge Manziel fans.

He was beating himself up pretty bad over the last two.

But he was clutch, and he's 10-4.

Was looking for an actual answer, rather than your overstated agenda of old jokes.

Thanks, though.

I gave you the actual answer, there are multiple quotes about how bad he played and how the interceptions were on him.

Google it next time.

Everybody check out the Barnidge thread. I want to get some traction going for my challenge to @Ohdang

So much anger in this post.

You're not allowed to sensibly evaluate QB play after a win....

You will know when you aren't allowed to do something, trust me.

Today is a fine time to evaluate. Ten minutes after a dramatic comeback drive was... weird. No question from anyone I'm reading that the team around Hoyer played well enough to get a win against Atlanta, and Hoyer's missteps nearly cost the game.

The Houston is old news, but if we want to keep circling back to it after a game we can feel god about, be my guest. I still maintain Hoyer's downfall two weeks ago was a superior effort by the Houston front seven and such a bad performance from the running game and interior line that Tate finally got cut. Lots of dead money that could have been spent elsewhere, unfortunately, but the young bucks ran very well and held onto the ball against the Falcons. I'm pretty excited to see the team gelling.

While those two carries might have been the straw that broke the camel's back for Ben Tate's run in Cleveland, it's hardly an excuse for the lack of effectiveness in the passing game.

Yes, the running game failed to establish itself. The fact of the matter is, with less than 1/3 of his dropbacks being affected by pressure, Hoyer was unable to complete passes every QB should make with regularity.

That trend continued Sunday.

It's a pattern, it's undeniable, and it's not a good one.

At least Hoyer is able to admit it, even if some here are unable to do so.

We can all be thankful for that.

I like how this "anger" thing has been repeated enough that it's starting to gain traction. I am 0% angry, I assure you.

I wouldn't call anyone in this thread angry, for what it's worth. I've never felt the need to assign an adjective to someone's state of mind simply because we have differing opinions on an issue.

Yeah, he was joking.
