the warriors bench is weaker. until about a week from now

I was trying to make this point in another thread. This means Green is likely guarding Love, LBJ, or TT at all times. Love takes him out of the paint, LeBron gets him in the P&R, and TT fights him on the boards.

If Green is their only "Rim Protection" then anytime he's on Love or Lebron the lane will be wide open.
Hard to tell how their defense will look. They lose interior rim protection but dont you think their small ball lineups are now better on defense with Kevin Durant who is lengthier than Barnes and also an underrated defender. Also Kevin Love isn't seeing the floor much against these guys so we need an insurance wing defender who can effectively guard small ball fours and fives like Durant and Green since they now play on the same team. Could end up being RJ but let's be safe and find another.

Wish other posters would stop suggesting the leave iguodala wide open strategy. I dont care what happened a few weeks back cos that guy has a knack for timely buckets

Edit. Ironically I think Love may find it easier to back down KD than he did Barnes. There's too many changes to their D to know if the matchup is favourable or unfavourable as a whole

The short time period a portion of Cavs fans allowed themselves to truly enjoy the season, the games, the EC playoffs, the title, and the efforts made by the Cavs players, coaches, FO, and coaches.

July of 2015-June 15 2016 and July 4th 2016 all spent obsessing over another teams roster, anther teams style of play, another teams record, whether our wins would really mean anything against that other team, why our coaches weren't coaching good enough to beat that other team, why our players just weren't going to be able to get it done against that other team, why this player should be traded because we have to react immediate to that other teams moves.

I feel sorry for the people who really only allowed thenselves and the people around them that 3 week window between game 6 and today.

And if this doesn't apply to you, don't get defensive. But there ate absolutely people on this board that this applies to and fits to a T

Thanks LeBron, Kyrie, Kevin, JR, Tristan, Iman, RJ, Channinhg, Delly, Mo, Timo, Champ, Dahntay, Jordan, Sasha for winning this title for us.

Thanks to Coach Lue and the staff

Thanks to Dan, Griff, FO and rest of the ownership.

I hope you guys are hard at work, but I also hope you guys are enjoying and savoring this deeper and longer than a lot of the fans.

Welcome to sports. The rest of the NBA world has already moved on. If people want to talk next season more power to them.

Thanks for posting this. This is my first thought as well.

Fuck the Warriors, and fuck Kevin Durant. Fuck the knee jerk talk about trading Kevin Love.

We are the champions. I seriously doubt our players are shaking in their boots over this the way so many fans are. Kevin Love gets a few weeks of credit for his contribution to winning game 7 before fans throw him right back under that bus again. Love didn't just play defense and rebound for a few minutes, he did it for the entire duration of game 7. But people go right back to under rating what he can do defensively and who he can guard. This is knee jerk, loser analysis.

Talking about next year doesn't take anything away from this year. Myself, and many others, are capable of continuing to enjoy this year, and still thinking about the best moves for next year.

Personally, I think it could be a mistake to trade Kevin Love for medium-range talent at the wing. But, if Jimmy Butler became available for Love, I'd drive to Love's fucking house and pack his bags for him.

Again, I'm not talking about normal conversation and analysis of potential match ups.

I'm talking about a very specific phenomena that's happened on this board as the Warriors kept winning were you had a segment of Cavs fan who obsessed about every single Warriors and viewed not only every loss we had in the season but every victory through a lense of "yeah, but they wouldn't have done that against the Warriors."

Absolutely, we move on. The season resets in November with no champ. No argument there.

Again, in my post I said, if this doesn't apply to you don't get defensive. I was not addressing the analysis and discussion of other teams nor was I suggesting we should never talk about GS as if they're Voldemort.

Warriors Paranoia is a real thing. And I'll be honest I thought we were done with that after this year's finals and I thought that the monster had been vanquished. Looks like I was wrong though. Theyre just getting warmed up.

And I'm on your side about that. I just want people to enjoy the regular season and the continued growth and development of our championship team. As fas as GS, it will be fascinating to watch but we literally can only defeat or be defeated by them in June 2017 and as we've seen so many times before, what happens in the regular season is not necessarily indicative of the environment and dynamic of a 7 game playoff series

Just get the PIPE back. Maybe another wing or big. But mostly JR.

The Worriers are going to fail, because LeBron and Kyrie arent on that team.

Now if James was 3-4 years younger sure no worries but he's not. Damn stacked

Let's wait and see. Give griff enough time and see what he can do to further elevate the team. Also, any news about sanders?

Its kinda scary thinking about a pnr between curry and kd while having klay in the corner. Oh well, cavs always play gopd with theor backs on the wall.

Yeah...

So, the Warriors got better today. And the Cavs have done nothing yet but let Delly & Mozgov leave. Definitely disappointing.

But, nothing changes for me right now. We just came off one of the greatest, most unlikely Championships runs of all-time. We are fucking Champions. Nothing else matters. What is the point in worrying? Last year the Warriors were crowned in November. This year they're being crowned in July. Who gives a shit? June 2017 is a long, long way away. Whether the Warriors start 24-0, win 73 games, etc...none of that shit matters.

I'll start worrying about the 2017 NBA Finals once they start. Until then, we are the Champions. There was no chance we were going to beat them last year, yet we still did. Who says we can't do it again? The strength of the Warriors the last 2 years was their depth. That is gone now. They are a different team that we really don't know just how good they will be.

In the meantime I hope we make some moves to get better and hope our young players get better, but I'm going to enjoy the fact we are Champions because there is no reason not to. This season's narrative, again, will be "Golden State is the greatest team ever led by the best player and no team can beat them." This time we have a ring to point to and we'll be there in June of 2017 to prove all the "experts" wrong -- again.
