The Dog Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
ug. Morgan has had a bad week. Faith walked her while I was at my temp job and noticed a growth on her butt. Took her to the vet when I got back.. anal gland swollen. They lanced it and drained some of it, which cost the exact amount of money I made working that week. Gone that quick. Then, they looked at a scab I thought was from a fight from a dog and they said it may be skin cancer. Really worried. biopsy is another 200. Shes 2, cant have cancer, even if she is a boxer.. but im not going to take any risks. poor fucking dog.

:chuckles:

You just got duped another 200 bucks by that Veterinarian office.

well I could have drained the abscess myself. that would have saved 250. I didnt get the biopsy. So I dont know if its cancer. Not sure I would consider myself duped if I found out it was/wasnt cancer, peace of mind is worth it

It's likely not cancer, but that office will obviously tell you that in order to try and get more money out of you.

Why not just wait and see if it heals? If it doesn't heal in a month's time, shows no improvement, then you should definitely get it checked out, but not just because a vet suggests it. Everything's about the money now-a-days.

Oh theyre vicious, I'm aware.. I basically paid 250 for them to drain her once, which i will be doing daily for the next 2 weeks. And they threw me an estimate of 1100 to take care of the cancer after that.

This thing like.. keeps almost going away, and then she cuts it and it bleeds then builds back up again.. its cyclical

Dude...if it's cancer, a month's time could kill the dog. If the vet thinks it's cancer and you think it might not be, take it to another vet. Also be honest with the vet and tell them you can't afford that amount so (a) do they have payment plans and (b) how confident are they that it is cancer?

Medical care may be about money "these days," but it's still worth it if you don't know what something is and you care about the life of whom/whatever has it.

I lost my old beagle to cancer. He had lymphoma. The vet said that it was really treatable and he had a good shot. One of his lymph nodes by his neck was the size of a baseball. At first it was working. Lymph node shrank everything was ok. Then one day I get a call from my mom (I was in college) and he could barely breathe so they put him down. Didn't even get a chance to say good bye.

Now I have a 58 pound labradoodle. He's awesome and loves to play.

Those dogs are fucking everywhere these days. There are three or four of them in my apartment complex alone.

5 and 1/2 months now. She's about 25 lbs and due to get spayed in 3 weeks. I've said it before, but she's the first dog I've ever owned and I fuckin love her.

Left her with a friend last week when I went to Florida for Spring Break...when I got back Saturday to pick her up she went ape shit with excitement. I'm a heartless bastard, but damn that felt good.

Wow, that is a beautiful dog. What kind?

My hound mutt killed her first rabbit the other day. Thing didn't have a chance. I was kind of sad at first, but the thing didn't even know it was dying. She saw it, pounced on it and bit it on the ass and then just shredded it. If those things know they're getting attacked, they usually make this horrible screaming sound. By the time I got to it, the thing twitched twice and she was trying to pick it up. Thing didn't even react.

I'm actually kind of proud, because the other one has no interest in the rabbits whatsoever. Gabby is kind of a bad ass.

You are the guy to stop the other guy in the park and compliment his dog. STOP IT, he is trying to attract girls, not you.

She's a mutt. I got her from an abandoned litter down in Cincinnati. Her and a couple of siblings were given to a family on a farm. They were told that the parents were a Pomeranian chihuahua mix and a chocolate lab mix (which doesn't entirely add up :chuckles:)...her siblings looked a lot more like big Pomeranian puppies with a little lab in the face/snout. She was the lab-est one and with her dark coat that fades into caramel legs and then into white paws I could tell she was just going to grow into a great looking dog.

The vet says she has some doubts about the mix, and soon I'm going to get a DNA test to actually find out. She's incredibly well behaved. She's known and religiously followed commands since she was 3 months old (sit, stay, paw, up, etc) and was fully potty trained by 3.5 months. She only barks when she thinks there's an intruder or when you really rile her up during play time. She's also incredibly athletic and is a beast at fetch with either a tennis ball or a frisbee. Really a fantastic pup.

Looks like she's got some pit in her. Maybe some boxer, or at least that's kind of what mine's ears looked like when he was a puppy and before he grew into them.

I'd stop the shit out of chrisrich and that dog if I ran into them at the park. If any girls came over, I'd get between them and the dog so I could hog all the attention.

My Bella is in her first heat. I fucking hate it. Bitch is bleeding everywhere. Thank God I have hardwood and linoleum in the parts of the house she can get to. Her pussy is swollen to the size of a fucking baseball.
