The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am a Nord specializing in two handed weapons. Takes out enemies in 2-3 hits. Loving the game so far. The one time I was fighting a dragon on a mountain side and a freaking frost troll comes from behind and knocks me off the mountain. Pissed me off.

I'm doing an archer/stealth kind of guy. So far, it's kind of hard, but I'm still early. I'm only just now getting into the game. I get detected way too easily and it was getting on my nerves, but I got inspired when I got in a fight up on a tower in a mountain and shot some dude with an arrow from long range and watched him fly off. Totally jacked me up and I decided to stick with it and keep getting better with it. Maybe with more levels and perks I'll be slicing throats in no time. I'm a Dark Elf too.

Shit, seems like everyone is doing rogue/stealthy shit. I thought everyone would be mages or warrior types. Dayum.

Anything useful about daggers when you're a stealth guy? I mean, I have 1H Swords that do a shit ton more damage and daggers that do a lot less, but I figured daggers are more ... rogue like?

There is a perk you can unlock in the sneak skill tree that makes hidden dagger attacks do X15 damage. So ya once you get that they are amazing.

Yup. I'm primarily a stealth archer and still leveling up dual wielding daggers, but i can usually kill every guy in 1-2 dagger hits from behind.

i hope to god there's no level limit in this game...i want to be able to unlock every single perk

Going with a Mage/One-handed combat chara.
I stopped the main story and did the college quests first which got me some amazing gear at the end.
This game is way better than I thought it'd be.

I just wish Bethesda would do some god damn real beta testing before they release broken games to the market. Every fucking open world game from Bethesda takes at least 6 months of patches to work correctly.

From what I hear, installing this on the 360 causes texture packs to not load correctly. On PS3, I hear once your characters save file gets between 6-8mbs your game becomes laggy and completely unresponsive. Makes sense why my game is lagging more and more.

Just a warning, if you care more about gameplay than 100%'ing it; then don't level smithing and enchanting to max early in the game. I got smithing to 100 on my first game by level 24, i have all ebony armor, and it's not even fair.Smithing and Enchanting are really, really easy to level if you have cash, i'd venture a guess that 100 smithing only costs like 8k gold,if that.
Makes the game kind of boring in the long run. I kept my old char; but half the fun in elder scrolls games is just upgrading your guy and that constant search for better gear, but once you have the ability to do that without the real work of heading into dungeons it's kind of boring.

Nothing better than dying to a bandit then losing over 20 mins of gameplay (which included fighting a dragon)....

Someone tell me to keep going. I got bored early on and have been fighting through it because I loved Oblivion. I was finally starting to get into it before I went off on a business trip. I got sick of not being able to sell stolen stuff so I went and joined the thieves guild, I haven't done a whole lot yet since I've been busy preparing for this trip. Thing is, I just couldn't get into it like I did Oblivion. I'm sure it gets better, I was already starting to like it more.

So tell me to stick with it and tell me why it kicks ass (if you can avoid major spoilers that'd be great, don't care so much about minor details). Once I get back from this trip Saturday morning I'm gonna have a ton of free time for a while so it'll be the perfect chance to fully immerse myself when I'm not out getting plastered.

I do like the crafting system, I've already unlocked Dwarven and Elven armor. I know, it's not that impressive but I've only put about 3-4 hours into this game.

I'm completely opposite of Doc here... I bought Oblivion and gave it up after a few hours.... should I buy this game? Everything I'm reading looks great but I don't want to waste another fifty or sixty bucks.

Give it a rent before you commit the bucks. I think it's just that my personality has changed since Oblivion. It's the same reason I never got into Fallout. Oblivion was the first game I got for 360 and I was still a teenager at the time. Like I said, I already started to enjoy Skyrim more, particular when I joined a guild. I'm gonna get at it again when I get back, I'm just looking for someone to tell me it gets even better. Story is important to me, so if the main storyline picks up I'll get into it. If it's just running around and killing dragons, meh.

That's why I save like after every major fight. I'm only about 16 hours in and I'm already on my 130th-something save.
