The Exceptions

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Good article. One glaring miss is the non-guaranteed portion of Varejao's salary next year. That may make him more appealing to a team looking to create cap room.

It's a bit confusing how he has it on his chart. It says "9.3 mil gtee '17" on his chart but it would be better to probably call it "16-17"

I think 9.3 of the 10.3 is guaranteed in 2016-2017.

Duncan seems to be pretty knowledgeable, he has a decent podcast I've been listening to on ITunes.

Cavs could also create an asset by buying a first-round pick to package with TPE and flip a deal on or before Draft Day, yes?

i really think we need a move to beat the warriors. that team is so fucking insane. im not even sure exactly who we could target, but we need someone like igudola.

Do we even have the roster space for those yummy exceptions? The way I see it we have to cut Pointer if we are to use just one of those exceptions, that is if he's counted in the roster.Edit: and perhaps cunningham too

Cunningham and Harris can go whenever if we get another contributor.

Right now Kaun, Andy, Harris, Cunningham and James jones are virtually unplayable against golden state.

We have so many - defenders in our rotation. JR is a bad defender, people think he's ok because he makes plays once in awhile. There is a video, maybe bball breakdown or one of those channels about jr before finals last year. He misses a lot of rotations and dumb fouls. Mo is a horrible defender. Love has been pretty bad this year. Kyrie maybe will be better.

Golden state has like 2 playsers on the roster who aren't great defenders. Steph and speights...honestly steph has been great this year.

I really think we need another guy to counter the death lineup of golden state.

Problem is, I doubt anyone is out there for us.

I guess u never know who could b available

It is just very hard to find a deal that works since we can't attach anything decent to it. The Haywood deal which turned into this exception had the best chance of being used last trade deadline or last off season. Even then it was very hard to find a good deal that made sense. Most likely like many of us said, this will never get used.

How about we wait to see how we look with one of the best PG in the game and our best perimeter defender both back healthy, before saying we can't beat the Warriors?

I agree 100 percent. We have a lot more room to grow. Not sure if the Warriors can play any better then they are now. Also again we are wrongly just assuming they get past the Spurs in late May. That series could easily take them to the brink.

To add to this, ONE injury could change everything in a heartbeat. We should know this better than anyone with Love and Irving last year.

Don't forget the lesson in 2010 getting a guy to face a specific team. We got SHAQ for Howard and never even met up.

We want a deep and versatile team to deal with the unforeseen.

i never said we can't beat the warriors i just think we need another defensive wing who can shoot and pass.

not that it will be easy to come by. we dont have much, a 1st, cedi and the exceptions.

oh and I also want to remind you guys. we are a couple injuries away from jared cunningham getting minutes. he's fucking terrible. he finishes around the rim worse than dion and cant shoot FTs. if we have to play him in the post season, its over.
