The Fire Pat Shurmur Thread

Question? Since 1999 is there a team in the NFL that has consistantly hired a worse group of HC's than the Cleveland fn Browns? Chris Palmer? Butch Davis? Romeo Crenell? Pat Shurmur. That group collectively, has to be, by far, thee single worst set of HC's in the NFL by a mile.

My God. I know we've also been fairly devoid of talent most of the time as well. But, that list is just an absolute abomination.

That all falls back on Mr. Lerner. His football instinct wasn't as effective as those of the elite. He made choices that ultimately puts us in this predicament.

Going forward, we now have Haslam - who has already begun to dissemble the people behind the reason why were here. I truly believe Mr. Haslam will make whatever sacrifice necessary to put a real, true leader-type head coaches.

The Browns have not been able to create a culture around here because of the inconsistency of the head coaches. It all starts with the man calling all the shots.

Excuse me Pat but Vince and would like a word...

Why all the hate guys? His teams battle and make progress.

You're all nothing but irrational children.

God damnit. This team has talent and should be winning games. Look at what happened to the 49ers once they got a good head coach, they went from 6-10 to 13-3 in ONE SEASON. Obviously we need some upgrades (mostly defense) but Shurmur is holding this team back and Haslam needs to show him the door the second the season ends.

I wouldn't even give him that long.

I'm like 75% sure that this team has at least 2 more wins and we're in the hunt for the post season if we have a different head coach.

Fixed it for ya.

It boggles my mind.

How many times today did we see 3rd & 5-8 and we call a 3-5 yd out?! Seriously... It was at least 3 times, if not more.

Again today, with running the ball in the 2 minute drill & wasting time off the clock when you're trying to score.

Going for it on 4th & 2 on your own side of the field. It's literally like he was thinking "Well, they boo'd me when I punted in this situation last time, so I'll go for it here"..

So sick of his overthinking, of his "trying to catch the opponent off guard" moves, and of his "playing not to lose" mentality.

:chuckles: I actually tried to fix that myself but I couldn't edit my post for some reason. This is an incredibly young team. They need a strong leader to help them grow. The talent is on the field. Too bad there's no talent on the sideline.

I am in agreement. Today was the breaking point. I want him fired right now so that head coaching candidates for next year are more than aware of Cleveland as a destination. This game was absolutely ridiculously mismanaged extremely frustrating.

Earlier in the week, the Bull and Fox did a buy/sell segment. One caller did a buy/sell Shurmur taking 1.5 Time Outs because of the play clock. 1 is bad but it happens. 2 is just terrible. He had 3 time outs because they didn't get the play out there in time. 3 times it happened today. It's unspeakable how bad that is. Half of his allowed timeouts today were because he couldn't get the frickin play in on time. It's not like it's this game, it happens every game. At least once if not twice per game he blows a timeout because of this.

I'm so done with this clown. The team under performs every week and he makes some truly bonehead decisions. He's a laughing stock around the league now. I'm not for making changes mid year, but this guy is a disaster. I'd support a move now if they made it.

I'm with you on everything except not making a mid-season move. This guy is a detriment to the youngsters on this team. Get him out of here and bring in a legitimate coach in the offseason.

I see why Alex Smith is getting a ton of PT as a fullback now. It's so that the 2 yard outs on 3rd and 7 get caught, because those 2 yards make a big deal in field position... *sarcasm*

Saints wont resign Sean Payton. Anyone thinking what I'm thinking?
