Addressing the hole at center

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Oden is so bad it is a waste of a slot, not money

Blatche is a poor defender and a headcase (although I think he has behaved as of late) and I would easily take him before Oden.

If he's the fifteenth guy on your roster, it's not even really a wasted slot. Those guys never play anyway.

To be honest, I just want the Cavs to start five number one picks for one game. :chuckles:

The Heat just brought him along slow and patiently. Like they should have. And he didn't crack the rotation much because they were deep. He might not here either, but its worth taking a flyer on imo. Especially since we need real centers so bad. No harm in a minimum contract. His agent saying he wants to go somewhere he plays alot makes me believe he is quite healthy. Let him play 15-20 minutes if he wants. If he gets hurt again, that's the end. Cut him. It was worth a good run.

Haywood is already in the "third string might never see the light of day" role at center. And with Andy starting we don't have a spot open for a guy like Oden.

I want gorgui dieng. I think the guy is gonna have a monster season. Minny might be in the know now too though after 19 rebounds tonight.

Would you guys do bennett for dieng straight up? Slide AV into the backup big spot?

We would lose out on the trade in terms of value but we would instantly be a championship team with no glaring weaknesses. Could be called win-win.

I wanted Dieng over Karasev. I am starting to hate the Zeller trade a lot. Signing all these has been s from the Heat is making it worse. I really get the impression that Griff is going to trade all our young guys for vets.

Minnesota wouldn't do a Deing for Bennett straight up. You see what Deing did in the last month of his rookie season?

Minnesota is also playing Deing at PF now in the Summer League in anticipation of losing Love to a trade before the season starts.

Put our assets in the Center basket instead of Kevin Love. Keep Bennett. Waiters/TT/picks would be good enough for an above average Center. Derrick Favors? then sign a vet as back up in Jermaine O'neal or Meka.

notable defensive centers available:
1. ekpe udoh
2. stiemsma
3. biedrins
4. seraphim
5. oden

No way the Wolves give us Dieng, unless we give them Bennett, multiple first rounders and Wiggins as part of the trade.
If we got both Dieng and Love I would have to really consider giving away Wiggins, but I would have to keep Waiters.
I am still holding out hope that we could get Love without Wiggins, but I am not holding my breath.
If we do trade Wiggins, I would hope we could also demand Dieng.
Dieng and Love would be awesome duo, and you could slide Andy to the bench. Damn, I wish Flip would do us a Kevin McHale. Maybe we need to whisper in his ear that if he gives us Love and Dieng, in a package without Wiggins that we could build Flip Saunders a statue and that he would never have a pay for a meal in NO ohio ever again!:chuckles:

A guy I'd like to target is Kyle O'Quinn from the Magic. I'd usually think a team would be unwilling to trade such an inexpensive guy, but the Magic are facing an offseason with Vucevic, Harris, and O'Quinn all being restricted. I'd seriously think about sending a protected first rounder for O'Quinn. Matching rights for next year come with him.

I'd love to get O'Quinn, who I think could be a good starting center for the future. The Magic are invested in Vucevic, for good reason. Watched a lot of O'Quinn because the Magic games are the most readily available basketball down here (and I've always liked the Magic, mostly. They're not the Cavs, but I've seen a lot of them over the years).

This might have already been brought up but would Joel Anthony be of any worth to us?

You know your team is good when fans magically being to assume they can just have any good young player they want. This Dieng this is hilarious. He's not going anywhere.
