Lakers really needed the Charlotte win. Kobe has earned more respect in my eyes this year than any other. He is carrying that team and doing it with amazing versatility. In this game, when they were down at one point he had like 8 assists and 4 points. he finished with 20. If they choose not to sign Dwight, it will be because he is such a whiner. Seriously, wouldn't the lakers be a better team with Jefferson than with Howard?

In any case, I think they lose against Miami, but that does not really hurt thier playoff chances. They have made it through this road stretch above 500 for the stretch, and they are only a few games out. If they can string together a 7-3 average from here on, they will make it into the show. I could see them trading out Pau for a functional big, if they could find a buyer, and that would help.
