The Jarvis Landry Thread: Bless 'Em

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Logic is lost on the herd mentality and their simplistic group-think, but not on you, my friend.
What a horrendous post

“Someone doesn’t agree with my logic, must be group think! And simplistic group thing at that!”

This coming from someone who agrees with Ohio’s post. But you’ve been doing this all over the board now for some months now where you act like anyone with an opinion is beneath your own. And it comes off like shit

Is Edelman a #1?

No, way over rated too. But Brady likes him, works well in the slot, and is a great outlet and possession receiver for Brady.

Since NE has no #1 receiver since Moss left, someone will get number 1 looks and Edelman is it.

Edelman has made $26 million in his career.

Jarvis Landry will make that during the second year of his Browns tenure.

Pot meet kettle.

Also, I'm willing to admit I have posted that way - generally when I witness people sling their dicks all over the place in every thread. I don't post much, but I do read a lot and people tend to think because they post often/longer they're somehow entitled to sling their shit more than others.

I had no clue he was that low paid, never really looked. Yeah, I bet landry is cut in a couple years when we have other receivers to take his place. Right now if we keep Perriman we have 4 I am comfortable with....with the cap we have, not enough to cut Landry.

Assuming sportrac is right the issue is we have an out after this season. Given the extensions we need to shell out and keeping flexibility for FA additions, I'd say there's less than a 50% chance he's on the roster by 2020.

And I won't say that things like leadership and blocking don't matter, but I view it kind of like having a RB who is a wall in pass protection. Is it awesome to have on your team and does it have a tangible effect on winning? Absolutely. But there's no way I'm shelling out top 10 money for just that. He's not the biggest problem on our roster by any means, but in an ideal world he's probably our #3, maybe our #2, and I don't see us keeping him around once we upgrade the position unless he takes a pay cut.

My point was keep him for another year and see our cap position. He will be cut eventually though, but no need when we have about 100 million in cap, he is a usefull player

Is it any better to basically call everyone on the board group thinking, simple minded idiots?

I really don't get the group think comments. There was actually a pretty even number of posters on both sides of this debate and I thought both sides made good points. It might have been needlessly emotional and wrenches may have been flying, but I actually thought good arguments were made on each side of it

The group-think comment originated in response to someone claiming another was getting 'eviscerated'. Read back - it wasn't made just because of a disagreement but in direct response to, "well we're outnumbering you so we're right".

I sorta hopped into the fray though I wasn't trying to be malicious. Just a "hey, this side of the argument can sting back".

It all seemed to have died down and didn't escalate so I'm not sure what you're up in arms about.

I heard there’s footage of Norris doing a wheelie on a unicycle but it was probably removed due to obvious reasons

Here's why I know Jarvis Landry's bullshit didn't matter...

If Hue Jackson doesn't get fired, the Browns win 3 or 4 games for the season.

If Tyrod Taylor doesn't get benched, the Browns win 3 or 4 games for the season.

Landry's "leadership" didn't change jack shit around here. They were a shitty football team for two months with Landry "firing the boys up" on a daily basis in practice and in training camp.

I understand he's a likable guy, but some of you guys are just going crazy with this intangibles nonsense. Do you not remember how terrible the first half of the season was? Was Landry not a part of that?

Why did things turnaround? It wasn't Landry's passionate locker room speeches that's for sure. Things turned around because the Browns got MASSIVE talent infusions at QB and at play caller. No other reason.

Jarvis's leadership probably doesn't translate to any W/L this year.

It probably does translate to Antonio Callaway being on an NFL roster rather than on the Commish's Ineligible list.
