The Jimmy Haslam Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean if the article was half true and half fiction it's still indefensible. Every sports cliche about the business guys doing business stuff and the football guys doing the football stuff is ignored. It's like they are purposely making the wrong decisions at every opportunity they can.

The RBS has a Browns Timeline of Terror thing they do dating back to 1995. Since the Atlanta game where we miraculously came out of that at 7-4, I can't remember a worse stretch of time for the Cleveland Browns.

Jason La Canfora just has it out for Haslam.

C'mon Soda, I believe in you.

You can do it! :alc:

I still do believe he does, to an extent. It will not trump the magnitude of the stuff JLC identified in his article. It's very troubling stuff and there seems to be plenty of it. Hence, my not mentioning the personal side. Let's not pretend there isn't a sour grape or 5 there, though.

It's a shame the Browns won't come out and say anything. Right now, the Cleveland Browns Daily guys are taking the frustration from the fans... That shouldn't be the case.

This phrase should be on a sign over the locker room door where other teams have signs that say "Play like a champion today."

Wow, we are completely fucked as Browns fans. Are there any Haslam defenders still left out there? If so, they're probably the same people who "boycott" the Indians because "the Dolans are stingy." The FBI was our best hope in relieving the community of this carpet-bagging, criminal cracker, but alas he was able to have others take the hit for that situation too.

In their defense, tough to come back when you cant comment on a league investigation into the face of your organization.

Hands are tied at the moment.

When I can't even jump out in front and try to point out a silver lining or a flaw in the story, it's bad. :cha (40)::whogives:

Can you all really not spot a hit piece when you see one? I'm pretty sure this is just a rehashed/updated article from a year ago after Lombardi and co. left.

I'm not saying everything is roses with us, but this article paints everything realted to the Browns in the worst light possible and everybody who is gone in the best light possible (Lombardi getting a Super Bowl ring as a personnel adviser for Hoody? Shanny is a rising star and our best coach even though he only ended up having one job offer? And rat face advising Blank? Give me a fucking break...).

Cleveland Browns Daily guys saying the root of this turmoil is the lack of a QB.. :chuckle:

Right after I stick up for them..:faint:

Well, I hate to break it to you, but this is the CLEVELAND BROWNS we are talking about. This team has been 100% dog shit in every respect since 1999. Rather than them continuing to exist in Cleveland, I would rather they (a) get retracted, or (b) get sold to an investment group who would move them to LA. The fans of NE Ohio deserve so much more than what this organization in its current incarnation has given (or could ever give) them. It's worse than a dumpster fire; the Cleveland Browns organization is the "Chernobyl of the NFL".

Haslam owns and runs a multi-billion dollar corporation. When it comes to the Browns somehow he has the business acumen of a West Virginia lottery winner. How is that possible?

He's not all that off in regards to trying to paint them in the worst light possible. Not that I am defending Haslam and the front office, they are a complete joke. But in one paragraph he starts off with "The coach's handpicked quarterback, Johnny Manziel, is in rehab", then goes on to write all about how Manziel was Haslams pick. He also says the Browns led the AFC North for much of the season. We were in first place for what, one week?

Again, not defending the front office. But it did seem at times like he was exaggerating or writing things in a certain way just to make it seem as worse as possible.

That being said, most of it unfortunately seems true.

I think you answered your own question based on the way we now know he has run his father's business in the past.

We don't deserve anything. It's entertainment. If you are no longer being entertained stop giving them your money.

I stopped giving Adam Sandler my money after he continued to put out dogshit, but I never felt like I deserved better because of the 4-5 great movies he made.
