Re: Kevin Love

He'll be a Laker or a Celtic in 2015. Flip a coin.

Re: Kevin Love

Wait guys!

I thought we were saving cap space for LeBron!! :(

Raised in Santa Monica and went to UCLA, I think the Lakers would be the safe bet there. But if not one of those teams I'd say OKC maybe to play with his former college teammate, Westbrook.

Re: Kevin Love

Uncle Drew pulled that DWade/Arison recruiting tactic with KLove already...I can smell it. Uncle Drew and Wes was just a preview.

and OKC would happen how, exactly?

Re: Kevin Love

And you guys scoffed at this thread originally. Minnesota could be so good wow what a joke. Makes me appreciate the cavs. With another lttery pick looming the cavs could become a free agent destination. Players wont to go boston if they are terrible. Maybe LA but kobe will be basically gone by then.

Maybe LA? Of course free agents will flock to Los Angeles. It's the second biggest media market in the nation and the Lakers are arguably the most identifiable franchise in basketball with a long, rich tradition of winning and hall of fame players. And it certainly doesn't hurt that the weather is nice, you can live in Beverly Hills, and Jack Nicholson and Denzel will be courtside.

Re: Kevin Love

Unreal how that clown kahn treated him. How do you tell a top 15 power foward that he's not getting the max but rubio who proved jack shit will. How do you walk up to him in the trainers room like that and offer him a contract that way shamefull. That might be 1 player im not mad that he is mad

Re: Kevin Love

IMO I don't see the two most historic franchises (BOS, LA) attracting that many free agents. Their superstars will be retiring soon, leaving them with nothing attractive but their marketability potential. If Love wants to go play for LA b/c he's from there, I'd certainly understand but if he wants to win a championship (or any other big named FA for that matter) their best bet is OKC, cHeat, Crooklyn, NY, and MAYBE Dallas. I don't know, I think the NBA landscape will change once Boston and LA have to begin a rebuilding process and with the new CBA, I expect smaller market teams to become more desirable trade/FA destinations. Who knows, maybe we're already starting to see this shift with Harden not wanting to accept less pay and Bynum saying he could see himself playing in CLE.

:dunno: Working 3rd shift and am exhausted. Just thinking out loud.

These guys have found ways to force themselves anywhere. Wherever Love wants to play, that's where he'll end up. OKC is going to have a bunch of young players if they hold on to Toronto's pick this year so they could manage a trade. Lamb, PJ3, Reggie Jackson, top 10 pick in 2013, and could also throw Ibaka into the mix.

not really, in most cases it was just getting over the inevitable (melo, howard, etc) and the trades ended up being fair at the time.

that is a hell of a lot different than trading arguably the best 4 in the game when he has THREE years left on his deal. i don't think love will be traded anytime soon, but when/if he is, teams will be lining up to make offers.

Re: Kevin Love

I'd be willing to trade for the dude if he agreed to a long-term contract. Send them Tristan Thompson, some 1st rounders, and Zeller next year or whenever Minnesota decides to deal him. Pretty awesome starting line-up that would feature Irving, Waiters, Love, and Varajao.

I never said they'd trade him now, I was saying in 2 years if he's planning on opt-ing out. We're all just speculating here, but I'd guess that the Lakers and Thunder would be the top suitors.

Re: Kevin Love

I'd be willing to deal for Love without a contract extension. It's not like he's up next year, and we'd have enough time to put together a solid roster.

Not going to happen though. They are not going to deal him now, and if they did the price would be too high.

If you are projecting 2 years from now, the package is even worse. Lamb? PJ3? They are cemented to the bench and with the rest of OKC's roster, that is unlikely to change in the upcoming 2 years. They won't be worth much, if anything. With the protection on the Raptors pick plus it being a weaker draft, there is a very realistic chance that pick turns into a role player. Hell, even Ibaka wouldn't be that appealing because his contract is up one year after Love's, so why would he then decide to stay?

i'm curious. what price, if they were to target him now/at the deadline, would be "too high?"
